Nigeria is visa free for most West African countries as well as countries under Ecowas. As a Nigerian, irrespective of the hardship, our passport is getting stronger.
Now back to foreigners looking to visit Nigeria whether from US, UK or other European countries, you may need a visa.
So, here are the steps you need to apply for Nigeria tourist visa as a foreigner.
Determine Your Visa Type
What are you coming to Nigeria for? I’m hoping you want to explore and have a feel of Nigerian culture.
Before starting any visa application process, you need to determine your visa type. For example, if you’re coming to Nigeria for business or visa, the visa you get shouldn’t be a tourist visa.
But if you’re coming for tourism, sightseeing, or to visit friends and family, a tourist visa is the right visa to get.
Gather Required Documents
Once you have determined the visa type you need, the next step is to start gathering the necessary documents you need for the process.
To apply for a Nigerian tourist visa, you’ll need to gather the following documents:
A valid passport: Irrespective of your origin, you will need a passport to apply for a Nigerian visa. This passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Nigeria. Additionally, it should have at least two blank pages.
Passport-size photographs: To complete the visa procedure, you will also need to submit two recent passport-size photographs. These photographs should be recent to avoid issues.
Flight itinerary: You will need to show proof of your trip through your flight details. This gives an idea of how long you plan on spending in Nigeria.
Proof of accommodation: Asides from flight details, you would also need to share proof of accommodation so they know that you have a place to stay when you get to Nigeria. If you are staying with friends and family, you will need an invitation letter from your host in Nigeria, including their addresses and contact information. However, if you would stay in a hotel, you need the reservation details. Sometimes, you may be lucky to get hotels where you can book on hold and share the reservation details. Yellow fever vaccination: Another important document would be your yellow fever vaccination certificate. Nigeria requires all travellers to have a yellow fever vaccination.
Complete the Online Application
You can fill out the visa application form on the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) website or at the Nigerian embassy or consulate in your country.
When you go to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) website, navigate to the visa application section to get the form.
Then, complete the online visa application form (Form IMM22) with accurate and up-to-date information. After completing the form, print out the confirmation page.
Pay the Visa Fee
The visa fee varies depending on your nationality, the type of visa you are applying for, and the number of entries you desire. This information you can find on the NIS website.
Once you finish filling your visa application form, you can pay the fee online through the NIS portal or at the Nigerian embassy or consulate.
Importantly, keep the payment receipt as you will need it for your application.

Some people may think I am biased for placing Nigeria at the top of the list. But, have you been to Nigeria? There is a reason why it is called the giant of Africa. Nigeria is one of the top 10 most beautiful places to visit in Africa you need to add it to your travel bucket list to Africa. It is rich in beauty, natural resources, culture, and of course food.
There is never a dull moment in Nigeria, and you may even be the one who doesn’t have enough time to visit the country’s numerous fun locations. I love that most of the states and cities in Nigeria are also buzzing. Therefore, Nigeria isn’t restrictive regarding places to visit where you can have fun.
Nigerians are lovable people who are always ready to give you a good time if you are down for it.

Go mountain climbing: If you love to engage in outdoor activities, you should go mountain climbing in Nigeria. Obudu Mountain in Cross River State and Shere Hills in Plateau State are some excellent examples.
Try the street food: If you haven’t tried some of the Nigerian street foods, you haven’t visited Nigeria. From Akara to Suya to Boli, everything leaves your taste buds craving for more.

I found it fascinating drivers didn’t use their car horns while driving. It came as a culture shock compared to my home country. It was also fascinating to see that most of the locals are fit. Now, it isn’t surprising why they win most athletic games.
Some of the fun activities to do in Kenya include:
Go Hiking/Cycling: I saw that one of the best ways to connect with Kenyan locals was through hiking and cycling. There are hiking trails across various cities in the country. Often, you will see groups of people cycling, and you can join in the fun. Aberdare National Park and Chyulu Hills are excellent spots for hiking and cycling.
Go scuba diving: If you are a risk-taker and love to live on the edge, you should try scuba diving in Kenya. Even if you haven’t done it, there is always a first time for everything. The fun you will experience with this activity is unmatched.
Explore the nightlife: Spending time in Kenya made me realize that nightlife differs in various places. By exploring the nightlife areas in Kenya, I met more locals and learned some of the dance steps.

Another of the top 10 most beautiful places to visit in Africa is Ghana. I did not have high expectations when visiting Ghana. For some reason, I was indifferent about it. However, the country left me in awe after a few days, and I have become Ghana’s regular visitor.
The energy and vibe in Ghana are always high and positive. It is why visitors never want to leave when they visit.

– Go to the local market: There is always something to buy when you visit a Ghanaian market. I don’t know how they do it, but I always love in love with the displayed wares. As someone who loves getting souvenirs from different countries, I always have fun exploring the local markets in Ghana.
– Go on the canopy walk: I was excited when I learned about the canopy walk as it seemed different from regular activities. Yes, I was scared to try it. But it turned out fantastic. I’ll always recommend the Kakum canopy walk to anyone visiting Ghana.
– Attend a local festival: Attending a local festival is one of the best ways to mingle with the locals in Ghana. It is always fun as it is nothing short of merriment.

I’ve always believed that having fun in a country isn’t dependent on the country’s size, and Cote d’Ivoire proved me correct. From its capital city to Abidjan and other regions of the country, I had a swell time exploring when I visited. – Go to a park: Cote d’Ivoire has beautiful scenery, and I loved visiting their gardens with a novel. I felt most of my evenings having quiet times, and at other times I would chat with people at the parks. It was a wholesome experience.
– Go on a night drive: The calmness in this country makes it an excellent location for night drives. However, I would not advise that you do this alone as a foreigner. Instead, make friends with the locals and link up with them when you want to experience a night drive.

It is one of those African countries that has a special place in my heart, and I could not help but add it as one of the best African countries to visit.
Some of the fun things I did in Cameroon included:
– Visiting a butterfly farm: Imagine spending all day chasing butterflies without worries. I’m sure a smile has crept on your face with such imagination. Yes, that is how I felt on this farm. I felt happy and free, which I needed at that moment.
– Going hiking: It was also fun exploring the forests of Cameroon, but I had to indulge in the services of a tour guide. Of course, there is always the initial fear that the tour will be boring, but that was not the case. I also learned many new things about Cameroon from the tour guide.
– Going to a cactus farm: As someone who had never been to a cactus farm, I could not pass up the opportunity to visit one. And, you can be sure that I had my camera handy to create memories.

I also find time to create content on my blog. Here are my best tips on how to balance blogging while working a full time. Most times, I hardly have time to myself during my weekend. This is because I have to commit my time to catch with my blog.
Below are my best blogging tips to help you balance blogging while working from home. Some of these tips will come in handy if you work from home to boost productivity.
Time Management
The most difficult thing to manage is time. It seems like the 24 hours in a day is too small to achieve my goals. e.g. putting up a post , studying and working. Sometimes i wish we have 25 hours in a day but trust me if time is well managed, it is more than enough.
A simple time management tip is to have a to do list in which work is at the top of your scale of preference. Your regular job pays the bills so it should get more attention. Blogging or studying can be done intermittently also when your’re at work. Especially during times that work is very slow or not so busy. This trick is what i use to joggle blogging/studying with work so as to make the most the not-so-busy days of the week.
Enjoy the blogging process
Creating content, drafting a blog post, and promotion of blog content is quite an interesting process. For me blogging is enjoyable and the process of creating content is fun. There are also times when you don’t feel blogging or may be going through some form of writers block, its okay to take time off, reset and restart. Make blogging fun and enjoy it to the fullest.
In other to make it quite easier for your blog life, use a simple blog planner. There are a lot of blog planner available at cheaper rate. For me a simple carry on note pad does it making it easy to jot points on the go. Incorporate scheduling for your blog post to social media sites.
This makes it easier to post to a larger audience at right time. One simple app i use for that is Crowd fire. It is easy to use, free for use app. You can also use hoot suites for scheduling your post. It takes of the time and work involved in sharing your post manually on your social media site. I only have my weekends for blogging. So, I naturally rest in the early hours of Saturday and blog in the evenings or the next day. This is to avoid burn out from my day job.
Create work schedule for writing content, take pictures for your content and promoting your content. You need to create time for all this things
Outsource if possible
This year, I decided to get an employee to support my blogging. This employee is to create long form articles four times a month. I can say the pay is great.
So, if you can, set asides funds for employees or writers. You can source for writers from places like Fiverr, upwork, or social media. If the pay is great, you will find the best fit for your blog.
Schedule your blog post
The main aim of the content of your blog is to share it with possible readers. However, there is a hardly time to write and share this contents on social media.
The below tools have come in handy for me, Hootsuite especially for twitter shares, publer (free to use) scheduler, Triberr ( Also free) and paid crowd fire. The plus side, you can re-share old blog post using any of the above to get the word out after publishing.
Take time out
The last time is to take time off work. Yes, I said it. Your day job offers you time off because it is needed. So, you need to take time off blogging frequently.
This will help you reset and refresh. Also, this will give you ample time to research new topics in your niche, check out what your competitors are doing also boost your overall well being.

I know heels cannot be a trendy accessory. However, they are gradually going out of style for summer. The fashion girls are over fashion is pain. Now they are more interested in comfort.
What we are wearing instead: in place of heels, we are wearing kitten heels. Kitten are one of the best shoe styles you can wear all year round. Also, it goes with everything; pants, dresses, shorts etc. It is a great investment piece that will last in your closet. Also, you will wear it often as opposed to stilleto heels or block heel.
Skinny Jeans will always be my Jam whether it is out of style or not. This may also be same for you too. However, skinny jeans are now out of style. It is now seen as dated. So, if you love skinny jeans, sorry they are now out of style.
What we are wearing instead: Most of us thought that post covid, many will go for the regular outfit style. However, the era of relaxed fits has come to stay. Instead wear wide leg pants and tailored trousers. This one of the most comfortable summer fashion trends that I love. I love both Skinny Jeans and relaxed fit jeans or trousers.
I know the girls that love athleisure are giving side eye. You know that trend ongoing on tiktok ( bombastic side eye). However, the era of rocking leggings as actual outfit is over. Save for the gym or Pilates class.
What we are wearing instead: This has been replaced with Capris. There are so many ongoing conversations about Capris coming back. Some love it, while others can’t wait for it end. I am iffy about Capris. This style of pants are cute on ladies with long legs or taller girlies. However, for the petite ladies like me, it makes us look even more short. So, yeah, it may be on trend but I will pass on this one.

I would recommend visiting this place with a group of friends or with your family. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or someone looking to unwind, McCarthy Beach Resort has something special in store for you. Yes, there is something for everyone who visits this beach.
Where to stay at Mc Carthy beach, Abraka, Delta state
There are numerous hotels close to Mc Carthy beach. However, I highly recommend you stay at Gordon’s Hotel and resort.
This is because it is the same as Mc Carthy beach hotel. A room costs about 25000naira per night. But you are to pay of 5000naira which is refunded to you after your stay.
There are so many options to opt for but we went with the cheapest option. Yet i had a great time. The room felt like luxury on a budget. I had terrible experience staying at Kim royal hotel Asaba. And I had written all hotels in Delta state as either bad managed hotels or too pricey. Gordon’s hotel and resort changed this assumption I had created.
So, If you need a place to stay in Abraka close to the beach, I highly recommend you stay at Gordon resort and hotels.
Fun things to do and gate fee at Mc Carthy beach
The entry fee to Mc Carthy is 2000naira per adult and 1000naira per child. This is the access fee for a day pass. However, if you’re stay at their lodge, you have free pass during your stay to the beach.
I have been to so many Lagos beaches. But McCarthy beach is not really a beach. It is similar to the whispering palms resort Badadry. So, if you’ve visited whispering palms, it is very similar to McCarthy beach.
The sands are manmade and yet it gives the vibe of a beach as it built on river ethiope delta state. You are allowed to in the river. They sectioned the safe places for tourist and there is warning sign for the deep part of the river.
Can you bring your own food to McCarthy beach Abraka? Not too sure. However, as lodger you can either order from their restaurant or bring in your own food.

The first thing I think about when visiting any beach is relaxing by the water and listening to the gentle sound of the waves. Have you ever slept off at the beach before? If yes, you will agree that there is a sense of calm that comes with it, and it will be one of the best sleep you’ve ever had.
At McCarthy Beach, you get to enjoy soft sand, gentle waves, and a perfect atmosphere. I would recommend sunbathing here while reading a book or simply watching the sunset. I would also recommend going with a camera as the views are one of the best you can get.
The resort provides comfortable loungers and umbrellas. So, you get to relax in style.
Water Sports
After enjoying your alone time, you can decide to kick in the excitement and adventure by indulging in water sports. The best part of it all is that this resort offers a variety of water sports. From jet skiing to windsurfing or paddleboarding, you can try your hands at any activity you desire.

You should also visit craft stores to buy souvenirs that you can take back. If you’re lucky enough, you may find locals who are willing to teach you how to make the local crafts.

I would assume that you are at this resort to relax which is why you embarked on the trip down to Abraka. So, why not explore the spa that this resort has to offer. They offer a range of treatments from massages to facials. You can also engage in yoga sessions on the beach.
Evening entertainment
As the sun sets, the resort comes alive with evening entertainment. You can enjoy live music, beach bonfires, and themed parties. The resort’s vibrant nightlife ensures there’s never a dull moment. Mc carthty beach is a fun place to visit with your family. It has a children play ground and mini pool that is safe.
There is so much to be had as an adult with kids. You can opt to ride a quad bike, take part in a boat cruise or simply swim with your kids.
There are other activities can take part in. Some are paid like Jet skiing, Paint balling, riding a quad bike or swimming. You should definitely try paint balling or quad bike. My first experience of riding a bike was at Omu resort, Lagos. It was so much fun. And my paint balling experience was in Ibadan during my honey moon.

Sales is one of the best time to shop for designer bags. You can get designer handbags up to 70% off during the sales. So, if you have a wish list, buy items from this wish list when it goes on sale.
Typically brands that the List, Coach outlet, the outlet offers designer bags for huge sales. This could be during the summer sales, New year eve sales, Winter sales or blow out. One of the best ways to shop sales is to sign up for the newsletter of these websites. You will definitely be notified when these items go on sales or if there is a sale going on.
