Is this a welcome development? Of course, yes. The queue to get enrolled plus that to update records can drive any sane person crazy. This is especially true now that everything is intertwined.
CBN recently insisted that your NIN be provided for banking in Nigeria. So, you need to ensure your NIN data matches with your account details. This is because the regulatory body may instruct your bank to freeze your account for non-compliance. So, this is very welcome.
Also, many Nigerians in the diaspora will be elated about this update. This is because you may need to visit Nigeria to make any changes to your NIN. However, there are NIN centers in the diaspora that you can access. To access it check out this list of NIN registration centers in Diaspora.
DIY step by step guide to update NIN (National identification number) online.
The below step by step guide will enable you update your personal information online. Whether your name, date of birth, residential address etc. With this new process, Nigerians living in Nigeria or in the diaspora can easily update their details online by providing the requested documentation.
Hence, no more queues at the NIMC office just to update your information. Plus, you get to save transport fare or fuel by doing this on the internet.

Delta state is one of the oil producing states in Nigeria. It is the home of some of the crude oil exploration companies in Nigeria.
Although they have some challenges with the gas flaring and other effects that comes with crude oil exploration. It is also a fun place to visit.

Go to Warri
One common mistake I notice a lot of visitors make when they visit Delta state is that they stick to the capital city – Asaba. Trust me, Delta state has a lot to offer beyond Asaba. Although one of the best things to do in Delta state is to experience its capital. Try to explore other places like Warri or Sapele.
When you’re in this state, you should pay a visit to the popular Warri city! This city is known for its vibrant nightlife, delicious cuisines, and rich cultural history. Have you tried Banga rice in any of the markets in Warri before? I was initially hesitant about this experience. But once I tried it, I’ve been craving it since then.
One of the best ways to enjoy Warri is to act like a local. Mingle with the people and hear stories about the Warri kingdom. Taking a stroll through the bustling markets is one way to do this.

Explore the beautiful beaches
It’s always funny how people think about beaches in Nigeria and their first thought goes to Lagos state. Have you been to Delta state?
This state is blessed with stunning coastal areas that are a sight for the eyes. One of the most popular beaches is the Abraka Turf and Country Club, known for its clear waters and serene environment. It’s an ideal spot for picnics, swimming, and enjoying water sports. Another notable mention is the Olomoro Beach, which offers a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation and unwinding.

While in Delta state, I enjoyed going around, seeing some landmarks, and learning the historical stories behind them. If you’re in Asaba, you would definitely hear about Ogbeke Sqaure that stands as a historical and cultural landmark.
This square commemorates the city’s rich history and is a great place for visitors to learn about the state’s past. Of course, you didn’t think I’d spill the beans here, did you? No! I want you to go there and hear for yourself!
Additionally, Asaba is known for its vibrant arts scene, with numerous galleries and cultural centers showcasing the work of local artists.
Experience Nature
Again, I repeat, Delta state is blessed with beautiful nature! If I had my way, I would sing praises of this place almost every day.
One of the places that stood out to me during my trip there is the Ukwuani forests. If you are a nature lover or adventure seeker, you are sure to fall in love with this place.
For those interested in wildlife, the Kwale Game Reserve is a must-visit. It is home to various species of animals and provides an opportunity to experience nature in its purest form.
Take a Trip to the Oil Palm Plantations
In case you didn’t know, Delta State is one of the major producers of oil palm in Nigeria. Therefore, it was only normal that I visited some oil palm plantations, and I recommend that you do the same when in the state.
During this visitation, I got to learn about the palm oil production process. As a view, I also enjoyed views of the plantations, and you can be sure that I left with lots of pictures!
Attend a festival
I love that Delta state is big about culture, and one way that they express this is through cultural festivals. It is also very fascinating to discover many tribal groups in the state. Yes, this state has a diverse culture.
The Igbo, Urhobo, Isoko, and Ijaw communities each have unique traditions and celebrations. One of the most famous festivals is the Anioma Festival, celebrated with colorful parades, traditional dances, and music. The Urhobo annual Ohworhu festival is another cultural highlight, showcasing the rich traditions and customs of the Urhobo people.
You will enjoy yourself at these festivals!
Visit an oil refinery
Again, Delta State is a key player in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. Similar to how I visited oil palm plantations, I also had to take a tour of the oil refining and industrial areas.
Through this visit, I got a glimpse into the state’s economic backbone. I also got more knowledge about the oil refining process. Yes, you can still learn even while having fun.
Visit the River Ethiope
I’m sure you must have been waiting for me to mention this place as it has gained a lot of buzz lately. Yes, you cannot leave Delta state without visiting this place.
The River Ethiope is one of the longest inland waterways in Africa and is a significant natural attraction in Delta State. The river is crystal clear and offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming.
It is also a great spot for picnics and relaxation, surrounded by lush greenery and the serene sound of flowing water. I’m sure you must have seen pictures, and you know that this is a great spot to visit.
Buy local crafts
I would be lying if I say I didn’t have a swell time shopping while in Delta state.The state is known for its vibrant textiles, beadwork, and pottery. These items make for unique souvenirs and provide a glimpse into the local artisans’ skills and creativity.
You see those local markets and crafts shops? That is where you would find all the goodies! Trust me, you would see an array of items and won’t be able to hold back from shopping.
Eat local cuisine
I know I have briefly talked about food earlier, but I can’t help mentioning them again. I love love love how the local meals in Delta state have unique flavors and are a delight for the tastebuds!
From pepper soup to Banga soup, and from starch and Owo soup to fresh seafood, the local cuisine is diverse and flavorful. Be sure to visit local restaurants and street vendors to sample these delicious dishes.
McCarthy beach resort/ Gordon resort Hotel
McCarthy Beach Abraka is one of the best places to visit in Delta state. It is located at Abraka City a few distance from the popular Delsu University. You need to check out vlog of this beautiful hidden gem in Delta state. I highly recommend you stay at the resort for the full experience.

Another great place to visit in Delta state Nigeria is Mount Ned Nwoko resort. It is the home of senator Ned Nwoko husband of Regina Daniels.

Did you know that there is a place in Delta State called Mount Ned Nwoko Resort?
I wouldn’t say it’s overly popular yet, but those in that region are familiar with this place and they keep recommending it. Of course, you can bet that my curiosity got the best of me when I learned about this resort, and I had to check it out.
One thing about this resort is that it has a way of immersing you into nature. However, it also has a way of exuding luxury which is something that gets anyone hooked on this place.
Initially, I was skeptical about going to this resort, especially as I didn’t know anyone who had personally visited the resort. But as a risk-taker, I took one for the team, and I didn’t regret the experience.
As the name implies, this resort is owned by Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian politician, businessman, and philanthropist. The resort is located in Idumuje-Ugboko, Delta State, Nigeria.
One thing that stood out about this resort to me is the architecture. I could spend hours admiring the architectural landscape at this place as it has a harmonious blend of modern design and traditional Nigerian elements.
It is a perfect place to visit as a group and also as an individual. I would even recommend this resort for organizations looking for a serene spot for a retreat.
Another thing I like about this resort is that they have amazing accommodation options. Whenever I visit resorts, I’m usually scared about their accommodation options as some are usually not up to standard. However, the reverse is the case at The Mount Ned Nwoko Resort.
This resort offers a range of accommodation options to suit different preferences and budgets. From luxurious suites and villas to cozy cottages, each unit is designed to provide maximum comfort and privacy. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities, including air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi, and private balconies with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Opening hours and entry fee to Mount Ned resort
There is no specific opening hours at the resort. So, you can access it at anytime of the day. However, I will not recommend you visit the resort in the evening. It is located in a remote area.
Also, there are no hotels close by as this is a residential town. There are no banks close to the resort. The only option is to get cash via POS. These POS merchants are too expensive but we had to get cash anyway.
We wanted to purchase Red oil 5 liters but it was clear that we were being ripped off. They can sense that you’re a guest except you dress to fit in.
The resort is free to access. However, there is fee of 2000naira per person to have a tour guide walk you through the resort.

Activities to do at Mount Ned Nwoko Resort
Now let’s talk about the fun things to do at this resort when you visit.
Hiking
This resort has some scenic hiking trails that are perfect for hiking lovers. While hiking on these trails, you get to see breathtaking views of the environment. This includes the dense forests and the rivers.
I would advise that you take along a camera while hiking as you wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to take pictures of the great views. Hiking on these trails can be refreshing and I recommend it.
Bird Watching
At this resort, you will see a variety of bird species. It was quite fascinating seeing these colorful birds and listening to their melodious calls. It was a welcoming experience that I didn’t know I needed.
If you are a birdwatcher, you are sure to enjoy this experience. Additionally, you might also see monkeys. Just be sure not to get too close so they don’t run away with your belongings as monkeys can be crafty.
Admire/Learn about the plants and flowers
The Ned Nwoko resort is home to beautifully manicured botanical gardens that showcase a wide range of tropical plants and flowers. While there, I enjoyed taking leisure strolls through these gardens to appreciate the vibrant flora and serene environment.
The gardens are also a perfect spot for photography. I left there with lots of pictures as I was sure to utilize the opportunity.
Engage in Yoga and Meditation
This resort is so calm and quiet that there is no reason why you shouldn’t engage in yoga and meditation. If you need a break from work, this is a good place to come and refresh yourself.
The serene environment and expert instructors provide a perfect setting for both beginners and experienced practitioners. These sessions are designed to enhance your well-being, promote relaxation, and improve your overall health.
Buy souvenirs
There are craft markets within and around this resort. So, I recommend that you go shopping and explore these craft markets. There are usually lots of souvenirs to buy, from handcrafted items to textiles, there is something for you.
Personally, I always enjoy shopping in craft markets when I visit a new place as it helps support local artists. I love seeing the smile on their faces as I interact with them and buy items. These souvenirs always remind me of my trip to these places.
Other fun things to do at Mount ned nwoko resort is to relax at the tower which is similar to that of bowers tower.
You can also engage in sport activities like volley ball, foot ball among other sport. The resort is close to its sport school.
However I would not recommend you go swimming. The pool seems to be unkempt by the staff. That is quite bad.
There is also mini zoo and cattle that graze. Mini zoo is not always available to access. As the animals are allowed to work freely to graze.

There are so many talks about opting for dupes vs Designers. Which is right for you, designer vs dupes? Personally, I will say both are fine. It is sometimes not advisable to walk around in or with designers pieces. As it opens you to potential theft. But this depends o where you live.
I love designer brands. So, I do shop them. However, I am unable to justify paying so much for a designer brand vs the dupes. In as much as I love to shop dupes, I detest counterfeits. What are counterfeits? Counterfeits pose to be the real designer with the logos and are offered at cheaper prices. How can you authenticated designer pieces that are not bought from the brand stores or verified brands like farfetch, matches fashion and Maison de fashion. I get it if you don’t want to invest in designers. Just I said earlier, I sometimes opt for dupes. My thought process sometimes is to try the dupes first then buy the actual designer brand. Also, I can just chose to dupe some pieces because I cannot justify these designer prices. Especially with the recent spike in prices for all designer brands as well as high street brands like ASOS, Mango, HM and shein.

Designer vs dupes
Designer vs dupes, which is better? Would you rather dupe it than buy the designer? I would recommend both especially if you can afford it. However, if you need a simple broke girl guide, then shop dupes instead.
Dupes gives you a feel of the designer brands. Sometimes the dupes are better or cuter. Although, designer brands are obviously of greater quality. Also, we shop designer for the prestige. The great quality of luxury brands makes it valuable that you can pass on for generations.
There are some luxury brands I’d rather dupe. Also, I would rather dupe jewelry or clothing of designer brands except for Tiffany which holds it value over time. For me I cannot justify the price tag on the famous loewe tank top or the brooches. I feel I can get a dupe that will me the same feel like the designer brands.
However, my top luxury brand that I will never dupe is hermes birkin or its picotin bag. I am obviously an hermes girly and I am gradually putting my coin together to shop them.
In as much as I cannot say you should dupe luxury or buy them expressly. The decision depends on what you can afford and How much you’re willing to spend.
