I always say that one of the highlights of any tourist’s journey would be the delicacies eaten when in a new place. This is why I decided to curate a list of top 10 Nigerian dishes every tourist needs to try out on visit. Also, check out my top 50 best things to do in Nigeria to assist plan your itinerary.

Is Nigeria safe to travel to as a foreigner? Yes, it is. The government is working hard to curb the insecurities in some Northern states. However, general, the country is a great place to visit if you have Africa on your bucket list. I have written a detailed Nigeria travel advisory as well as How to apply for visa as a foreigner.

When it comes to Nigerian dishes, I always have no doubt that it would be delicious and enjoyable as Nigerian cuisines are as diverse as its people. These meals come with flavors that will excite your taste buds and leave you craving for more.

You already know that Nigerian Jollof is definitely on this list. Forget the jollof war between Nigeria and Ghana. I haven’t tried Ghana jollof, yet from reviews I will say Nigeria jollof is the best. Someday in the future, I will you my review of both countries jollof.

Top 10 Nigerian dishes every tourist needs to try

Are you salivating already?

In this blog, I will be sharing top 10 Nigerian dishes every tourist should try. Trust me, they slap!

In no particular order, these meals are:

Jollof Rice: which is better Ghana vs Nigeria Jollof

Without a doubt, Jollof rice stands tall at the top of the list. I like to call Jollof rice the king of the jungle as I am yet to see anyone who doesn’t enjoy Nigerian Jollof rice!

Yes, I know that there are other countries that claim Jollof rice, but none comes close to Nigerian Jollof! Nigerian jollof rice is a rice meal made with rice, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and a mix of local spices. It comes with a spicy and smoky kick and can be paired with plantains, chicken, or beef.

No visit to Nigeria is complete without tasting and devouring Jollof Rice!

Nigeria Jollof, Chicken and Plantain

Boli

Have you heard of Boli? It is simply grilled plantains and is a street food in Nigeria. This simple yet delicious snack is charred to perfection and can be eaten alone or with groundnut (peanut), pepper sauce, or a side of fish.

The combination you get with your Boli depends on the region of Nigeria you are visiting. If you are in the west, you will probably get it with groundnuts. However, it slaps harder when you pair it with pepper sauce and fish which is common in the south.

The combination of the plantain’s natural sweetness with the smoky, grilled flavor makes it irresistible. You’ll find it sold by vendors on the roadside.

Top 10 Nigerian dishes every tourist needs to try out

Fufu and Okra Soup

I remember back when I didn’t eat fufu. There wasn’t any specific reason why I wasn’t eating it. I just didn’t grow up eating fufu, and my first time having it was when I had entered university.  From the moment I had it, there was no turning back!

In case you are wondering, fufu is a dough-like staple  made from fermented cassava, and is a perfect pairing for Okra Soup. For the soup, okra is chopped and cooked until slimy, mixed with palm oil, seasonings, and assorted meats. The sticky consistency might be an acquired texture for some, but the vibrant flavors will keep you hooked. Be prepared to enjoy this dish the traditional way—by breaking off pieces of fufu and dipping them into the soup with your fingers.

Pounded Yam and Egusi Soup

Still on the soups, you cannot be in Nigeria and not try Egusi soup! This soup is made from melon seeds. It is usually thick and goes perfectly with pounded yam.

In preparing this soup, egusi seeds are ground and cooked with spinach, bitter leaf, or pumpkin leaves alongside spicy seasonings and chunks of meat or fish. The soft, smooth texture of pounded yam makes it an ideal match for scooping up the rich soup. Forget cutlery, your hands are your tools here!

Efo Riro

For veggie lovers, Efo Riro is a fantastic spinach-based stew. This vibrant dish is made with spinach (or similar greens like waterleaf), and cooked in a tomato and pepper sauce spiced with iru (locust beans), palm oil, and assorted meats or fish.

The burst of earthy flavors and the richness of palm oil make it one of the most satisfying Nigerian dishes, whether you’re vegetarian or not! It also goes perfectly with any swallow. It is one of my favorite soups and can even be eaten with white rice!

Pepper Soup

Have you had Nigerian pepper soup before?

This isn’t your average soup! Nigerian Pepper Soup is a broth-based dish packed with layers of flavor and plenty of heat. It is made with various types of meat or fish, seasoned with indigenous spices.

Whether you opt for goat meat, catfish, or even chicken, this dish will warm you up in the best way possible. It is especially popular at Nigerian parties and is said to have healing properties! It can be taken alone or with rice or yam.

Cat Fish Pepper soup

Top 10 Nigerian dishes every tourist needs to try out: Akara

Is it even weekend in a typical Nigerian home if you don’t have Akara?

I like to describe it as a breakfast meal and also as street food. Akara is simply deep-fried bean cakes made from blended beans, onions and spices. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Akara is often eaten with pap (a fermented corn pudding) or bread. Whether you’re looking for a light snack or a filling meal, Akara hits all the right notes with its warm, savory flavor.

Ofada Rice and Ayamase Stew

If you’re a rice lover, Ofada Rice with Ayamase is a must! Ofada rice is a locally grown variety, often served with a green pepper-based sauce known as Ayamase.

The stew is rich with spicy flavors and often contains cow skin (kpomo) and boiled eggs. It is a meal that offers a unique blend of textures and flavors that will challenge and delight your palate.

What to eat in Nigeria as a tourist: Suya

For a quick snack or street food experience, Suya is the go-to dish. These spicy, skewered, and flame-grilled meats (typically beef, chicken, or ram) are marinated with a special blend of ground peanuts and hot spices, known as yaji.

Suya is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, offering a fiery kick in every bite. It is usually served with sliced onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers, making it the perfect balance of smoky, spicy, and fresh.

Moi-moi

This is another typical breakfast meal in Nigeria and can be eaten as a tasty side dish or standalone meal. Moi-moi has a similar preparation process as akara. However, it is cooked instead of fried as with akara.

It is often enriched with boiled eggs, fish, or even corned beef. Moi Moi is perfect for breakfast or lunch, often paired with Jollof rice, fried rice, or bread.

Top 10 Nigerian Dishes Every Tourist Needs to Try on visit

Have you ever felt like you have so many clothes, yet you have nothing to wear? We know that it is not about the clothes but how you wear it. Here is how to dress better with the clothes you have, a broke girls guide.

In my twenties, I always felt I don’t have the right clothes. Also, I felt you need to wear expensive clothes or designer outfits to look good. Well, I was so wrong. You can look chic with thrift clothes if worn better. I wish I knew this earlier on, I would have created more looks with my existing closet. You can look like money by mixing high street brands with thrift. Also, you can wear designer inspired pieces to elevate your look. Unsure about dupes, check out my blog post on designer vs dupes.

How can you make your current closet work well for you? This is by styling them several ways. In this blog post, I will be sharing my tips on how to dress better with the clothes you already have. So, you need not go shopping or throw out your current closet. If that is why you’re here, lets dive right in.

How to dress better with the clothes you have

Looking good is not about the money in your account. I have shared some of the best ways to look like money wearing old money looks or aesthetic. If you love the old money aesthetic, check out my post on old money wardrobe essentials to get you started. I am sure you already have some of these essentials in your closet.

So, before I dive into these tips on how to dress, let’s talk about how to figure your personal style.

What is your aesthetic? Old money, clean girl, mob wife or plain gothic

If you have been on the internet, you must have heard of this aesthetics. Old money aesthetics is similar to minimalism. If you love whites, gray, blacks or navy, this aesthetic will be right up your alley. Other see this as clean girl aesthetic. You look polished, neat and put togther.

Mob wife aesthetics is more about stealth wealth. You dress with your huge fur coats, all black looks, red lipstick, pair of heels and leopard print outfits. I will say I love mob wife aesthetic because I can’t get over leopard print outfits. Although, I will not wear it in coats but silk tops, maxi skirts or leopard print pants. That’s my vibe.

Don’t know how to wear leopard prints. Check out my blog post on how to mix and match prints. It will get you started. Anyhoo, to figure out your personal style, you need to know what you feel confident in. Who are you watching as your style icon? What do they wear?

For me, my style icon is Monroe Steele, an OG blogger and youtuber. Her style is more of chic, grown woman, edgy as she loves her statement pieces and casual.

Another thing to note for your personal style is your lifestyle. Are you such that shops for fancy dresses but have nowhere to wear it? As a lady in corporate, I have 90% of my outfits as work clothes. And just a little under 10% as casual outfits. So, you know I will naturally love tailored outfits, suits set, dresses that fits smart. However, If I am home, I go for comfort but fitted outfits. I don’t like anything oversize. Thats not me.

Look into your closet and sort through your clothes. Pick out outfits that fits into your lifestyle. Stop spending money on evening dresses when you know you hardly go for dinners or events. Be real with yourself.

Use apps to figure out your style

One of the best ways to dress better and figure out your style is by using apps. Like I said, you follow an influencer for a reason. Because you like the influencer style, and you draw inspiration from them.

An easy app to figure out your style is by using Instagram. Screen shot looks that you love and would like to recreate. This will help you maximize your closet.

Another app to use is Pinterest. One of my favorite search engines for clothes is Pinterest. You can simply search how to mix prints and patterns. Also, you can search for the best ways to pair two or more colors. My favorite way to use Pinterest is search for looks for seasons; summer, autumn/ fall, winter etc.

if you’re a fan of celebrity fashion, of course you can search for their style. The closet celebrity that her style resonates with me is Tracee Ellis Ross. I love her personal. And OfCourse, I always put a spin on it.

Favorite outfit formulas for elevated looks

When I first heard the word, outfit formulas, i was quite confused. Do outfits have formulas too? Yes, it does. These are simple tricks and tips for an elevated chic look.

So, here are my favorite outfit formulas to follow.

  • Monochrome looks are easy to pull off. Pairing the same colors or different tones of the same color always looks chic. It takes no brain cell to put together a monochrome outfit. My favorite way to go monochrome is styling whites or shades of brown. These looks chic and fun
  • If you love prints but don’t want to look like a drab queen. Wear prints that share the same color. You can wear two print colors that will looks like you’re a fashion girl. Another way to wear prints is to mix prints with cohesive colors. Like green and yellow look good together, brown and black are fun etc.
  • Stick to the 3-color rule: One of my favorite outfit formulas is to ensure the maximum color on my outfit per time is 3. You can go with one color or different tones, two colors that work well together and of course 3 colors max.
  • Match your accessories as one color: One easy way to look put together is to match your accessories as one color. For example, for a brown and white look. Go with a brown belt, brown heels or flats and brown fedora hats. You can even use the same color as your hair tie or scrunchie.

Pair at least two textures together

I love to wear two textures for a great put together looks. You can pair leather with satin or leather with knits. My favorite combo is knit with leather or denim. These two textures get me all the time.

Try to work with at least two textures with your looks. In this way you get to style what you have to create an effortless look. Another fun texture combo is suiting blazer over sheer skirts or pants. This was very popular during the fashion week especially Copenhagen fashion week as well as New York fashion week.

Accessorize your looks

Many of us ladies wear our looks with earrings, shoes and bag. However, you can do more with several accessories. A pair of sneakers, a satin scarf, fedora hats or beret can take your look to 100.

I have trying to switch up my looks with my existing closet. And ever since I started working with scarves, girl, my looks went to 100. You can wear scarves with your bag, as a neckerchief, as a head tie or even a belt. I have gone into details on how to wear scarves effortlessly.

Shop for more jewelry

So far in this post, I never mentioned shop for more clothes. Although, if you typically shop from high street brands for quality pieces, it will last you for years.

I typically shop for clothes from AliExpress, ego shoes, Shein and other Shein alternatives. Another place that I shop for quality pieces is via thrift shopping. Yes, thrift. I have scored some of my favorite quality pieces from shopping thrift. You get quality leather jackets, suede pants or jackets, and even great vintage designer bags.

You need good quality jewelry to elevate your look. Sis, you need more than earrings in your closet. Shop for bracelets, cuffs, anklets, waist beads, necklaces of different sizes etc.

Even if you need to update your clothes or declutter. Shop according to your lifestyle. Don’t shop on a whim or because you saw it on your favorite influencer. Retail therapy is great but having savings is also great.

Okay guys which of these tips on how to dress better with the clothes you have do you love? Have you already started applying any of these tips. Feel free to share your thoughts below.

From a little age, I have always heard about Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa and I was always fascinated by it. Standing at 19,341 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest peak and one of the Seven Summits.

Climbing this dormant volcano is an unparalleled experience that takes you through five distinct ecosystems—from tropical rainforest to alpine desert. The view from Uhuru Peak, the highest point, is an extraordinary reward for any adventurer.

When you visit this place, ensure that you take along a camera so you can capture all the views!

The pyramids of Giza are one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and they are a must-see. These pyramids were built over 4,500 years ago and stand as a testament to ancient Egyptian civilization and engineering prowess.

Every time I think about these I am always in awe as there are different aspects to hold my fascination. This is your cue to explore the interiors and marvel at the mystery of how these structures were created.

For wildlife enthusiasts, gorilla trekking in the misty rainforests of Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park or Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is an unforgettable experience. There is always a certain thrill with coming face-to-face with a family of endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Are you up for it???

Visiting Victoria Falls – Zambia/Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls is one of the largest and most magnificent waterfalls in the world, and is a spectacle to behold. The powerful rush of water creates a mist that can be seen from miles away, giving the falls the local name “Mosi-oa-Tunya” or “The Smoke That Thunders.”

When visiting Victoria Falls, I would recommend that you go for activities like bungee jumping, zip-lining, and white-water rafting that are available nearby. You are sure to have a swell time!

Hot Air Balloon Ride – Namibia

What do you think about riding a hot air balloon over the Namibia’s Namib Desert? I have thought about it so much, and it is on my bucket list for my visit to Namibia.

Interestingly, the Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world. It offers surreal landscapes of towering sand dunes, vast salt pans, and desert-adapted wildlife.

A hot air balloon ride over this majestic expanse allows you to experience the serene beauty of the desert from a bird’s-eye view, particularly at sunrise.

Tracking The Big Five in Kruger National Park – South Africa

If you ever find yourself in South Africa, I recommend that you experience the Kruger National Park as it is one of Africa’s largest game reserves. If you haven’t guessed already, you can see the ‘Big Fives’ at this park.

I like that this park is a safe space for these animals and we get to experience them in their natural habitat. It is also home to over 500 bird species.

Experiencing the Great Rift Valley – Kenya

Have you seen flamingos before? If you haven’t, going to the great rift valley gives you the perfect opportunity to do so.

This place is home to diverse ecosystems, including lakes like Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha. Here, you would see flamingos, hippos, and other wildlife. Additionally, bird watching and hiking are top activities to do at this place.

Visiting the Rock Churches of Lalibela – Ethiopia

Lalibela is famous for its 12th-century rock-hewn churches, which were carved directly into the ground as a representation of a “New Jerusalem.” These UNESCO World Heritage sites are sight for the eyes as they depict architectural wonders.

Interestingly, they still stand as active places of worship even in the present day. So if you visit these churches, you also get to learn about Ethiopia’s deep Christain heritage.

Visiting the Markets of Marrakech – Morocco

One reason why people love to visit Morocco is because of the beautiful and bustling markets of Marakkech. These markets are filled with colorful textiles, spices, jewelry and ceramics.

Asides from the markets, the entire city also stands as a wonder to explore. The city’s maze-like streets lead you to palaces, mosques, and gardens, while the aromas of street food invite you to taste the flavors of Moroccan cuisine.

This place should surely be on your list of places to visit!

Marrakesh Market, Morroco

Stargazing in the Kalahari Desert – Botswana

Although I have never been to Botswana, I have heard so much about the Kalahari Desert, and it is one of the top places on my bucket list. The most fascinating thing about this place to me is that the desert is free of light pollution. This makes it the perfect spot for stargazing.

While in Botswana, you can also visit the Central Kalahari Game Reserve to see wildlife like lions, elephants, and cheetahs.

Walking with the Maasai – Kenya/Tanzania

The Maasai people are one of Africa’s most famous and culturally distinct ethnic groups. A visit to their villages in Kenya or Tanzania allows you to learn about their traditional way of life, including their pastoralist heritage and iconic beadwork.

You will enjoy the fact that these people are very friendly and always ready to welcome foreigners into their space. Some tours offer the opportunity to go on a guided walk with Maasai warriors, learning about local wildlife and survival techniques.

Witnessing the Festival of the Sahara – Tunisia

I always tell people that one of the best ways to explore any African city is to witness their festivals. If you are ever in Tunisia, you need to experience the festival of the sahara in Douz.

It is an annual celebration of nomadic culture, and visitors can experience traditional music, dancing, and camel racing, as well as witness artisans showcasing their crafts. The festival brings together desert tribes and international visitors, offering an authentic cultural exchange in the heart of the Sahara.

Sahara festival, Tunisia

Visiting the Island of Goree – Senegal

This island is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was a major center of the Atlantic slave trade. When you visit this island, you can tour the Houses of Slaves museum to learn more about what went down in those times.

The island’s cobbled streets, colonial architecture, and museums also make it a culturally rich destination.

Diving with Whale Sharks – Mozambique

This one is for adventure seekers who are very daring. Mozambique’s coastline is renowned for its vibrant marine life, particularly the opportunity to swim and snorkel with whale sharks, the world’s largest fish. These gentle giants migrate through the waters near Tofo Beach, offering a unique, serene underwater experience. It’s a must-do for marine enthusiasts

Which of these best experiences in Africa are you planning to partake in? Have you been to Africa? If no, girl, you’re missing a lot. Africa has so much to offer. Are you a foreigner looking to visit Nigeria anytime soon? If yes, you are going to experience some cultural shocks that differ from your home country. Here is a detailed list of culture shock Nigeria tourist should know before visit.

Anyway, what better way to learn about these cultural shocks and be well-prepared than hearing them from a Nigerian? It is why I am here for you as that will be the focus of this blog.

Nigerian tourist should know these culture shocks

Just like every other country, there are things that are peculiar to each country. Unique culture, traditions and ways of life.

After you get your Nigerian visa and you’re ready to visit. These culture shock will get you started

Nigerians are big on respect

Nigerians are known for their warmth and hospitality, often greeting strangers with enthusiasm. Don’t be surprised if you’re treated like a long-lost relative, especially in rural areas.

Typically, Nigerians love to share stories, ask personal questions about your family, and offer food or gifts. Yes, it might seem a bit intrusive, but they do not mean it from a bad place.

When you come across these overly friendly people, a friendly smile and a warm handshake or a first bump would go a long way. However, I must add that you should be prepared for greetings that may take some time, especially in formal settings. You may also be offered hugs.

African time is a thing here

I would like to say that social events in Nigeria operate on the “Nigerian Time” mentality.  This means that these events do not start at the scheduled time. While business meetings or formal events may strive to start on time, social gatherings can often begin much later than scheduled.

For social events, I will recommend you should add at least 2-3 hours to the stipulated time. Although Nigerians like to stick to time, others are used to been late to events. A recent pyjamas party I attended that was slated for 6pm took off by 10pm. I was quite upset because I felt like I could have been productive with the time wasted.

When this happens to you, I recommend that you exercise patience. It is best to keep in mind that they are not doing this to spite you. Instead, it is a norm.

      Typical Nigeria Owambe Party

Prepare for the traffic especially in major cities

If you are visiting a city like Lagos, keep in mind that you would experience heavy traffic, also known as “Go Slow.” It is something you can never predict or get used to. It is why you should always plan for delays when stepping out in Lagos. Therefore, I advise you should always leave early so you can still make it on time.

Furthermore, moving around in public transportation like buses or motorcycles (locally known as okadas) may seem chaotic and unregulated compared to what you are used to. If you are uncomfortable, I recommend that you opt for ride-hailing services like Bolt, Uber, and In-Drive. They are available in most major cities in Nigeria.

        Lagos traffic during peak period

        Dress Modest

I wouldn’t in any way describe Nigeria as a conservative country. However, Nigerians take pride in their appearance and often dress quite formally, even for casual events. While you don’t need to dress extravagantly, it is respectful to dress modestly.

But if you find yourself in the northern part of Nigeria, conservative clothing is best advised due to religious influences.

          Crowded Markets

You cannot say you visited or experienced Nigeria if you do not experience the market culture. Shopping at local markets can be both exciting and overwhelming as it is always crowded. However, the fun comes in bargaining and haggling prices.

One thing about Nigerian markets is that you would always find whatever you need. However, don’t accept the first price you are offered in local markets. Bargaining is part of the game, but always keep it respectful and friendly. Be prepared for market vendors to call out to you enthusiastically, but a polite “no, thank you” will suffice if you’re not interested.

For Lagos, you can go to markets like Oshodi, Balogun, Mushin, Idumota, Mile 12, Festac among others. I love to explore these markets to shop for thrift. If you’re into thrift shopping, check out these best places to shop for quality thrift clothes or accessories in Lagos.

            Nigerians can be very welcoming

One thing I love about Nigerians is how expressive and enthusiastic we are during conversation. However, this also means that one may stand closer or touch your arm or shoulder while speaking. If you are someone who is not used to people being in your personal space, this may be startling. They do not mean to be rude. Rather, it is a sign of engagement and friendliness.

            Nigerians can be hilarious

I do not mean to over hype Nigerians, but I can say for a fact that Nigerians are one of the funniest people you will ever meet. This is also combined with a playful and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor.

When interacting with people, you would see that they often joke about politics, social issues, or even make fun of one another in a light-hearted manner. At the same time, directness in speech is common, and comments that might be seen as blunt or too personal in other cultures are often made openly.

Don’t take jokes or comments too personally. Having a sense of humor and responding in kind will earn you respect. However, it’s good to be mindful of how you respond until you’re familiar with the nuances.

                Tipping is not compulsory

In many parts of Nigeria, tipping is not always expected but it can be appreciated. So, do not see it as mandatory to always tip.

However, service standards may differ from what you are used to as you may experience slower response times.

                  Most Nigerian dishes are spicy

Nigerian food is known for being spicy, flavorful and unique. Some of our staple dishes include jollof rice, pounded yam, and egusi soup. If you are not used to spicy food, the intensity of the heat may come as a surprise. You can tell your host or the restaurant to prepare your meal with a reduced amount of spice.

It is not out of place in Nigeria to see people eating some meals with their hands, especially swallow and soups. However, when eating with your hands, only use your right hand, as the left hand is considered impolite in many cultural contexts.

                    Nigerians are very religious

Nigeria is deeply religious, with Islam and Christianity being the predominant faiths. Religious practices are often woven into everyday life, and prayer is common in public spaces. During Islamic holidays or Christian festivities, entire regions may observe religious customs, including closures of businesses.

Be mindful of religious customs and prayer times. If you visit during Ramadan or Christmas, expect changes in schedules, increased gatherings, and celebrations. Importantly, avoid discussing sensitive religious topics unless you’re sure it’s welcomed.

                      Common Language is Pidgin

There are several Languages in Nigeria. However, the main language is English Language. So, you don’t have to worry about language barriers if you’re English speaking. Unlike some west African countries who are French speaking like the republic of Benin.

How was I able to cope in the French speaking countries? Google translate came in handy. I have also written about travel apps to help you as a foreigner in any country of visit.

Asides English, Its common to hear Nigerian speak in pidgin English. This language is very popular across the country. Whether you’re in the southwest, North or southeast. However, it more common with the south region of the country like Delta state, Bayelsa or Edo state.

I have been to some states in the south of Nigeria. Click here to learn more about my visit to delta state Nigeria as well as fun things to do on your visit.

I used to think that French fashion is a little exaggerated. However, Paris fashion week 2024 street style shows that the French dress better than others. No offence to other European countries.

I have reviewed Copenhagen fashion week, London fashion week as well as New York fashion. You can check out my best street style looks reviewed. But the French street style looks tops all of them. Now I see why I was hooked by the show Emily in Paris.

All the looks from Paris fashion week are tailored to 2025 fashion trends. Boho dresses were featured on the street style looks. You can say boho dresses are in. Chloe show featured so many fine free boho dresses in nude with a bit of sheer. I love the boho style denim dress in one of the street style looks. It is a mini dress, and she styled it with a pair of knee-high brown boots which I love.

Let’s do a quick recap of the street style looks so far. My favorite street style looks from London fashion week is a cute sweater midi dress with a white flowy skirt. This is super cute and fun.

Copenhagen fashion week featured so many fun old money looks. My favorite is the crisp white top and bottom with a rosette as jewelry. Love this look. If makes me wants to look like money whenever I step out. You know that lady that drives a white Porshe, has a chauffeur and lives in white house. My Imagination!!

Lastly New York fashion week was one my best show in terms of the street. The gworls did not come to play at all. So many denims look, Bermuda shorts and chunky jewelry. My favorite look is this simple strapless black dress and chunky necklace. Love this looks.

                      Boho Dresses

Chloe show featured so many boho dresses. That simply means that spring summer 2025 will feature boho style dresses and tops. One of my favorite boho dress from the street style look is this cute denim dress with billowy sleeves. I can wait to wear a similar dress.

Another boho dress is this cute burgundy lace dress. I love the fact that though it sheer lace, she wore it modestly unlike what we saw in the past fashion week. So many outfit with sheer pants and dresses with just bodysuit. I can’t be caught in that look. However, she wore a burgundy mini dress in it that makes love the whole look. However, I would swap the strappy heels with a pair of pumps or boots.

                      Fringe is in

I have a love hate relationship with fringe. Fringe was one of the hottest 2018 fashion trends that was everywhere. You will see fringe on the runway and stores. In dresses, skirts, jackets among others. I still have the same stand, no to fringe.

However, this leather blazer dress had me in a choke hold. Love the stress and the subtle fringe details. This look will be perfect with a pair of thigh high boots. However, from the pictures online, I can’t tell the type of shoes she is wearing. Do you love fringe or will pass on it? Share your thoughts below.

Although from this look she went all in. Layered a suede skirt on loose fit pants. I will definitely ditch the pants and wear the outfit as a suede suit set. She paired the look with a brown leather bag and a black scarf. This look will be perfect with a pair of sneakers in black or brown. Love this look a lot less the pants.

                      All things leopard

Leopard print is a staple wardrobe essential. However, many shy from it as it more in your face. A minimalist will definitely shy away from it. As a maximalist, I use any opportunity to collect leopard prints. If you are new to styling prints, read my post on how to mix prints and pattern like a pro. This will teach how to wear leopard prints.

The first look is a lady wearing a leopard print trench dress which is cool. However, I would rather wear leopard prints as a neutral. This lady wore an off-shoulder print dress over a white button-down shirt. This is super fun. She paired the looks with a chocolate knee high boot.

                      Monochrome outfit in brown

A no brainer way to dress effortlessly is to wear monochrome looks. And of course, there were so many monochrome looks from Paris fashion week 2024 street style looks.

In this look she styled an all-brown monochrome look. I love how she played with several tones or shade of brown. Many of us shy away of styling monochrome looks that doesn’t match. However, I love to play with several tones of the same color for a cute monochrome moment.

Which of these Paris fashion week 2024 street style looks are your favorite? My favorite is the suede outfit idea and of course, the boho chic denim dress. Perfection. Let me know your thoughts below. Ciao for now.

I will not sit here telling you that I love suede. My relationship with suede is off and on. I love it and hate it due as it is a high maintenance fabric. If you love old money aesthetic, you know suede is luxurious. It should be part of your staple wardrobe. However, if you see suede as just a fabric, you decide if you want it or not.

The internet is buzzing about wearing suede as the season gets cooler. Some even argue that suede is meant for autumn or winter season. However, I will say that you can wear suede all year round. For example, for the summer season, wear suede in terms of accessories and Bermuda shorts. I also wrote about several on how to wear Bermuda shorts for summer.

However, as the weather cools off, wear suede as a jacket for autumn or fall season. Also, it is a great breathable material you can layer with trench coats or jackets to keep. I knew I really wanted suede irrespective of my fear of maintenance. It is a luxurious fabric to own.

                      Sweater dresses

I have always love sweater dresses. One of my favorite sweater dresses is from chicme. I regret selling it. Now, I have replaced my sweater dress with an updated style. if you have shopped from Chicme for fall fashion, what are you doing.

This sweater dress was styled in a way I would not have thought of. She layered her sweater dress with a linen white skirt. It is perfect blend of grey and white. However, she decided on a pop of color for her bag. I love boho chic jewelry. If you don’t know, boho style jewelry is in for 2024. I also wrote about the hottest Jewelry trends for 2024.

                      Opt for colorful jumpers

Typically, when I think of Jumpers, I think neutrals. Grey, black, white or brown. However, at London fashion week 2024. There were several street styles looks featuring colorful jumpers.

One of my favorites featured a knit print jumper and black tennis style mini skirt. I love how pulled the look together with black tights and ankle boots. Her handbag is giving me vintage Chanel style. But I cannot tell if hers was chanel.

Another look featured this distressed style red jumper and leather pants with a slit. She went for a monochrome red look. However, I will not be caught dead in red that much. If red is your cup of tea, why not? However, I would rather style a cream jumper and a Jean Paul Gaultier leggings dupe that I love so much.

My only but with this look is that she didn’t accessorize as much. No necklace, a cool pearl neck lace will be perfect. She can also go for a simple brown leather watch or pearl bracelets. This would have made her old money look perfect. Love old money aesthetic, check out my post on old money wardrobe essentials to step out looking like money every day.

The old money fashion is one that exudes a quiet kind of luxury. Old Money aesthetic is used interchangeable with Quiet luxury. However, Old money Aesthetic is more like minimalism. If you are minimalist, this up your alley. However, unlike minimalist, old money also features cool tone colors like Pastels as well vibrant colors like red, pink among others.

I tilt to this style most times because it has a way of alleviating how you look, and it is sure to get heads to turn whenever you step into a place. Furthermore, it leaves you looking absolutely fabulous, chic, and sophisticated.

Now, if you would love to feel like old money all year round, here are 10 wardrobe essentials you should own:

Take your mind back to the last classic movie you watched or think about times you’ve watched people play old money roles in movies. Now that I’ve juggled your memory, I’m sure you’ve remembered that trench coats play an active role in their outfits.

A trench coat is a piece that always exudes elegance whenever it is worn. A beige or camel trench can instantly elevate any outfit, offering a sleek silhouette while keeping you protected from the elements.

However, allow me to tell you that most of the bags you rock are structured bags. Typically, structured bags are bags that have a lot of shaping and seams and can hold their shape over time.

When you want to pull off the old money fashion, you need a handbag that is elegant, yet functional. A structured leather handbag in neutral colors like black, taupe, or cognac is the perfect investment piece.
