Is Corset top still on trend? Personally, i will say this trend never left. Instead, elevated and updated versions were created. Also, the corset style is now in dresses whether traditional Nigerian attire or cute summer dresses. So, it never really left the fashion scene.

What bottoms go well with corset tops? Many bottoms go well with corset tops. Asides the obvious choice denim pants or Jhort (jean shorts). There are several ways to wear your corset top for a girly, edgy or casual look. So, lets dive right in.

Corset Top Layered Over a White Button-Down Shirt 

It may seem like you are over dressing, but trust me you are not. There is a certain polished look that comes with wearing your corset top over a crisp white button-down shirt. 

I like to describe this style as fashion-forward as you get to maximize your wardrobe. I also like that this styling is versatile. You can wear it for both corporate and casual events. Layering your corset top with a white button-down shirt works well for both skirts and trousers. 

This pairing adds structure and contrast while creating a sophisticated silhouette. I would recommend that you opt for a neutral corset or experiment with prints for a bold twist.

I have always been a fan of high-waisted trousers, and I believe that no woman should own a wardrobe that doesn’t consist of high-waisted trousers. These trousers go with almost any top, including corset tops.

Asides from the respect, it also gives you a certain sense of confidence and you may even notice a change in your walking steps.

What type of midi skirt goes well with a corset top? I would say you can go with either a straight midi skirt or a flowy midi skirt. The flowy midi skirt especially balances the edginess of a corset top. 

This styling is an ideal look for a date night or brunch. It typically creates a feminine look that leaves you feeling good with yourself.

One of the trendiest ways to wear a corset top is by layering it over a slip dress. I know you might find this styling weird, but it is a great way to wear a corset top. Trust me, you will love the look when you try it. And, you will start doing it regularly. 

It also falls under the classification of fashion-forward styles and  I would always recommend it to people. If you want to make a statement and get heads to turn, this is the style to choose. It is a great way to repurpose your slip dresses for more occasions.

However, seeing the bag in person made me decide to let it go. Yes, it is sizable, but it will not work as a travel carry on handbag or a work bag per se.

I also knew that I will be getting it in the pre-loved market. The feedback from others that have the bag made me consider going for the secondhand option. Why pay full price when I can get a deal in the second market?

Cons of Loewe puzzle bag mini

  • It may not fit your phone. My phone is Samsung A05. It fits mine. Not sure if it can fit your phone with other things
  • The strap is quite thin. So, I am worried about filling it too much.
  • It only has one entrance. No back zip or inside pockets
  • The strap is not adjustable. I am 5ft 5″, it hits me at the hip (whether it is worn as crossbody or shoulder bag)

The color I got is a rich pink color. Almost like a neon pink bag. I know I love colors as a Sagittarius girl. But I have never thought that I will be a pink girly. I would rather go for black or my trusted brown color.

Do I hate my puzzle bag? Absolutely not. It is a cute bag. Super versatile. It is a perfect travel bag for me to pack. You can wear it for a day stroll or switch it to a night out bag.

Marrakech is an exotic city that seduces with its vibrant atmosphere, colorful souks, and majestic palaces. Everytime pictures and videos from this place pop up on my timeline, I wish I could teleport myself there immediately.

I’m sure this is not the first city that would come into your mind when you think about South Africa. However, it should be at the top of your mind when you think about romantic cities in South Africa and Africa as a whole. 

Generally, this city is known as the food and wine capital of South Africa. With this in mind, you already have ideas of activities to do while in the city.

The windiness came as a shock to me as I had gone to Zanzibar from Dar Es Salam that was hot. It was a welcoming experience to being in a colder and refreshing atmosphere. 

Another thing that stands out about Zanzibar is its beautiful architecture. They were a sight for the eyes, and I made sure to take lots of pictures. 

Whether you’re taking sunset cruises on a traditional dhow boat or relaxing in a beachside villa, Zanzibar provides a dreamy setting for couples looking for both relaxation and adventure.

Let’s go down memory lane. In 2019, the girlies were all about waist bags and belts. I love this style as it gives you this edge to your style. Then came the era of crossbody bags. One of my favorite crossbody bags is the louis Vuitton multi pochette accessoire. I had the dupe, and I wore it till it fell apart. 

Will I still get the real designer bag? Not really. The trend is over, I guess. Now the girlies are now interested in other bags like the east west bag, woven style bags etc.

You will love these handbag trends. We all know that fashion is cyclical. One minute we were drooling over mini bags and now we are all about large tote bags as clutches. 

I love these cute handbag trends. My favorite are the hobo bags. I have a hobo bag of my own. It is a great messenger bag yet cute. Perfect as a work bag as it fits my laptop. We all know that the speedy bags are iconic Louis Vuitton bags. And I love the Louis Vuitton speedy. Even if I can get it, I am just worried about the many counterfeits around. As you must know, I totally detest counterfeit. Do you feel the same way about them? I talked about it on the blog about counterfeits vs dupes. 

Anyways, with the new re-edition released this year, this bag is now one of the most sought-after bags. Also, the re-edition version now features very cute exotics. However, you will have to pay a premium for it. 

Other designer brands like Coach and Marc Jacob’s have something similar for a lower price of course. I can’t wait to get my hands on the Marc Jacob version. It is super cute and gives the same vibe.

This style of handbag can be worn as a clutch. You know the 2024 fashion trend of styling large bags as clutch. This style of bag is perfect for it. If you’re feeling bold, this is a style of handbag you can wear to a dinner date. Large enough in most cases for all your essentials. You can clearly tell that my favorite of these best handbag trends is the hobo style handbags. Whenever I see a hobo style bag, I want to get them all. Also, I don’t mind having a collection of hobo bags in several colors.

If you can’t tell yet, I am Loewe girl. I love all their bag styles. This brand has been killing with their bag styles for a long time. The most popular bags are puzzle bags. This includes the puzzle bags and the puzzle tote bag. I do love both equally.

This handbag is everywhere now. So, if you snooze you will lose on this bag style. Since this blog is all about looking chic on a budget, you can also option to shop for designer dupes instead. This will give the style, and you get to shop for it on a budget.

Burgundy color bags

One the most popular colors for fall 2024 is burgundy. This is also one of my favorite colors to wear asides brown or white. Anyway, Burgundy color is huge for fall fashion 2024. I am so excited about this color as it goes well with everything.

Burgundy can be worn as a neutral color just like Navy blue. It is super versatile. So, I am on the lookout for handbag style in burgundy color. Love this color and highly recommend you shop at least one of your handbags in burgundy color.

I debated whether to add this to the list. Suede on outfit is not my go to but suede for bags may be. One of the most popular handbags trends for 2024 is suede.

There was this poll on YouTube whether to shop suede bags or leather bags. Suede bags came highly recommended. The texture is cool, chic but it is a high maintenance bags.

Leather bags on the other hand is timeless and chic. It transcends the trends. So if I am to choose between both, I will choose leather bags. Quality leather bags are easy to maintain unlike suede.

I used to shop for scarves as an afterthought. Asides religious reasons, why else do I need them. Now, I realize you add a scarf to your look to elevate it. You can wear it as a neckerchief, as a head scarf or as a sarong.

If you follow me on my channel, you will know that I am belt obsessed. Adding a belt to your outfit makes it eat down. It gives your body a smooth figure and makes you look taller. Also, it is a great accessory for every lady.

Okay, I don’t want to bore you with the old money looks or minimalism. However, this look makes you look rich. The neutral tones like beige, black, grey, white etc. If you are a minimalist, you can check my post on how to wear the old money looks like the rich lady you are.

Monochrome outfits are super clean. I liken this to the clean girl aesthetic that is TikTok viral. IYKYK, right. My favorite monochrome looks are navy blue, all white and all brown looks. These are super cute looks. 

If you don’t know what to wear, go for an all-black look or an all-pastel blue look. Monochrome looks are not just for neutrals. However, neutral monochrome looks gives you old money looks.

Accessorize with Jewelry

Like I said, many of us do not know the power of accessorizing. My favorite jewelry to wear is anything gold. Gold jewelry is super chic and fun. This is perfect for dark skin due to our yellow under tone.

Yet, any skin type can wear gold and look chic. Gold is likened with wealth. Even my daughter’s name is Gold as it connotes wealth. That doesn’t mean that silver jewelry is bad. No, but gold jewelry makes you look rich.

I am still on the hunt to shop for pure gold jewelry. What puts me off now is the fact that I cannot identify real gold jewelry. I don’t mean no tarnish but pure gold jewelry. Any tip will be highly appreciated.

Accessorize your looks with jewelry, gold or silver. Style your outfit with necklaces (layered or not), bracelets, anklets etc. You can also check out my post on the hottest jewelry trends for 2024. My favorite is a chunky bracelet. I have my eyes on some cute bracelets that are super cute. Gold of course. 

Don’t forget to wear sunglasses

My least favorite accessory is sunglass. If it were up to me sunglasses would not be in this world. Yet, I love it on someone else. I rarely wear my reading glasses as I find them uncomfortable.

Anyway, sunglasses are super chic and fun. You look like money when you finish your look with the perfect sunglasses. I highly recommend you shop for black sunglasses. Preferably a large frame sunglass. It is chic.

Silk is used simultaneously with wealth and riches. Soft yet chic and beautiful. I love a cute silk blazer. Since I saw it in an interview, I can’t wait to have mine.

I did my NIN months after it commenced. The queue was not as bad as when it first started. Imagine struggling to get enrolled with over 1million people the same day. I was glad mine was a breeze compared to when I did my voters card.

Another challenge with the NIN is updating your personal details. This will take your time, your money and even stress. Moreso, now that your data across board must match: NIN, BVN and International passport.

Imagine the stress you must go through to update your date if wrongly captured. Also, as a married woman, I dread going through the process to update my marital name. 

With the advent of the new process on how to update your personal details at home, I may just consider it. Let’s get into how to update your NIN details from the comfort of your home or offices. Skip the queues with this stress-free method introduced by the government.

How to update your NIN details at home

Is this a welcome development? Of course, yes. The queue to get enrolled plus that to update records can drive any sane person crazy. This is especially true now that everything is intertwined. 

CBN recently insisted that your NIN be provided for banking in Nigeria. So, you need to ensure your NIN data matches with your account details. This is because the regulatory body may instruct your bank to freeze your account for non-compliance. So, this is very welcome.

Also, many Nigerians in the diaspora will be elated about this update. This is because you may need to visit Nigeria to make any changes to your NIN. However, there are NIN centers in the diaspora that you can access. To access it check out this list of NIN registration centers in Diaspora.

DIY step by step guide to update NIN (National identification number) online.

The below step by step guide will enable you update your personal information online. Whether your name, date of birth, residential address etc. With this new process, Nigerians living in Nigeria or in the diaspora can easily update their details online by providing the requested documentation.

Hence, no more queues at the NIMC office just to update your information. Plus, you get to save transport fare or fuel by doing this on the internet.

To use the NIMC short code, the following must be in place.

  • Your mobile number must be the same as that provided during registration.
  • The modification is subject to verification and approval by NIMC
  • A service fee may apply

Steps using short code

  • Dial the short code on your registered mobile number- *346#
  • Select NIN Modification
  • Enter NIN (11-digit NIN)
  • Verify NIN
  • Select Modification option (Name, date of birth, address, email address etc)
  • Enter the new details to update
  • Confirm changes
  • Receive Confirmation code
  • Confirm modification
  • Receive confirmation that the update has been effected

Steps using NIMC website

  • Log on to selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng to register and login, input NIN, verify NIN with face match
  • Click on the required data to be modified e.g. Date of birth
  • Input your national population commission Certificate (NPC) number
  • Upload the NPC certificate
  • Await approval or notification that details have been updated.

Last year was the year for minimalist fashion girlies. The term quiet luxury was used to describe this minimalist trend. Now the quiet luxury has been replaced with the old money aesthetic. 

This time is not about logo or plan jane looks. It is all about neutral clean girl aesthetic which I am okay with. Even as a maximalist, I must confess I do love this look.
