So, I think it won’t be wrong to say that the peak of traveling is now over. The next time we even think about traveling, what will worry us is if we know all the safety travel tips to follow after coronavirus gets dealt with.

I have watched too much news about how COVID 19 is impacting us. After having read I compiled some travel tips to follow after coronavirus pandemic is over. This tips along with other tips on packing for travel will come in handy.
Here are 5 safety travel tips to follow after the lockdown is over to ensure that you stay safe. It is also important to keep others away from the potential risk as well.

Stay prepared for the emergencies

Once you start to travel post the COVID 19 situation, you will have to stay more careful. Since it is a global situation, you won’t be safe in any part of the world. Also, you need to stay aware of situations around and keep track of those that are COVID-19 positive.

one of the 5 safety travel tips to follow is to be prepared for emergencies. Keep all the emergency contacts of hospitals, ambulance, etc. that you may need in an emergency. Have your state embassy’s contact details. You need to be aware of what facilities are provided in case of an emergency. This may be one of the most important safety travel tips to follow after coronavirus situations turn better.

As suggested by the World Health Organization, the end of this pandemic is nowhere near. We might always have to stay in constant fear. B prepared for an emergency lockdown or cancellation of any flights in the place you are visiting. So be aware of such circumstances.
Wash hands regularly, maintain personal hygiene as well as cleanliness around you.

Stay Masked

Another of the 5 safety travel tips to know is to stay masked. It is likely that wearing masks, both on flight as well as in the city you are visiting, will become compulsory. Hence, keep a stock of a few masks with you. Even if there isn’t a compulsion, wear masks for your safety. Be it inside public transport, inside the flight, in a public washroo,m or even subway; wear masks!

Stay Afraid

I don’t mean to frighten you, but it is best if you have the fear of being possibly infected once you begin to travel after Coronavirus. This fear in you will probably keep you cautious when you are out there surrounded by people. Thus, you will follow the rules of social distancing, avoid touching things, and will stay aware of your surroundings.

Get A Travel Insurance

One of the 5 safety travel tips you need post lockdown is to purchase travel insurance. Invest in travel insurance every time you travel overseas. Make sure that you read the entire terms of the travel insurance before you buy one. This is another one of the important travel tips to follow after Coronavirus situation subsides.

5 Safety travel tips to follow after lockdown

We all are stuck in the home this period to contain the current pandemic. I know it can be super boring. What are the fun things to do while self-isolating? It can be quite challenging for some of us. This is because we are already used to our very busy lives.

You can imagine how it feels for those of us working regular jobs and entrepreneurs. Jobs are now being moved home so it is not a long holiday or an annual leave. Also, after you complete the task assigned to you from the office, it can so boring for the rest of the day.

The worse part is that you can’t just leave the house to the park or a nice resort. So, I will be sharing 10 things to do while self-isolating. These are the things I have been doing to keep myself sane through these trying times.

Work out / Exercise

It is possible to sleep in bed most of the day for lack of what to do. Another of the 10 things to do while self-isolating is to work. Exercise is a simple way to keep fit and boost your immune system. A healthy body is ready to fight whatever disease is thrown at it.

So, you can adopt a simple exercise routine to keep your body going. I am not really a fan of exercise so I won’t say it will be a walk in the park. Especially if it is something you rarely do. But hey baby steps, you look for simple exercise or follow some fitness YouTuber for tips.

This is one of the fun things you can do while self-isolating. Exercise releases happy hormones. Also, they have other health benefits you never knew.

Read A Book

Another of the 10 interesting things to do while self-isolating is to read a book. In our very crazy world, it is very hard to keep up a reading habit. My colleague at work is always on my case to read good books to gain useful knowledge. My response is as usual- no time.

I have two books by Robert Kiyosaki with me. So, since there is plenty of time at hand, I have started reading the books. Get good personal development books to read. You can get an e-book if you’re not a fan of hard copy books.

I prefer hard copy though because I get distracted easily on my phone. So, I may not concentrate when reading an e-book due to social media distractions. Either way, do you.

Click here to buy or read a book on Amazon

Play games

Another thing you can do to keep yourself busy is to play a good game. Games can be fun and some games make you a strategic thinker. There are so many options you could choose from. Board games like scrabble or chess can be played with your family.

Also, you play a solo game like a rubric cube. This stay-home period has opened my eyes to see how I suck at playing rubric cube. I also scatter it and then arrange it. Kudos to people who can figure it out, like my boyfriend and younger brother, I envy you.

Movies

Watching movies is a good way to pass time. Some of us have gotten so busy that we forget to relax. I love watching movies during my free time. But sometimes I fall asleep watching movies too. You can watch movies on your phone from youtube, Netflix, or any other source.

We all know that it is way more fun watching movies at the cinema. The sound effect, popcorn, the environment, etc. You can bring your local cinema home while you entertain yourself and your family. I can recommend some movies I watched on Netflix; white house down, Furie, coffee and Kareem, Proud Mary, Maria, etc. The list is endless on Netflix whatever movie genre you love.

Learn a new skill

Most of us complain about not having much time on how hands to upgrade our skills. Instead of spending so much time reading all the negative news on social media, focus on other things instead. Another of the 10 things to do while self-isolating is to learn a new skill.

You can also register for an online course to upgrade your degree. It’s time to be worthy of that promotion. These are simple things to help boost your career. You can learn a new skill on Coursera, enroll in an online program or learn from skillshare. We all know that most firms look for what you can bring to the table before assigning a bigger task to you.

You can also learn how to improve your makeup skills or styling skills. Subscribe to youtube vlogs or fashion blogs to brush up on those skills.

Up your cooking skills

Personally, I eat more than I cook. So, I am trying to change all that. The whole culture of take-out after work or having siblings around makes me rarely cook. Moreover, cooking is not my thing per se. If you find yourself in this bucket like me, dear it’s time to learn more cooking skills.

My dear colleague recently opened her food vlog so I am hoping to learn new skills from her. You can also do more cooking this period too to brush those skills.

Be creative

Another of the 10 things to do while self-isolating is to fuel your creativity. Some of us are both creative and professionals so there is little time to excel in the two. So, as a blogger, this is one of the freest times for me to work on my creativity. I am basically creating content for social media platforms as well as my blog. You don’t need to own a blog to be creative.

Take up skills like art and craft, painting, knitting, etc. You can also read blogs on simple home DIY skills that you can apply. Read topics on “How to” available on the internet. There are so many free skill-building articles and youtube videos you can learn from. Below are my own improved layout skills I have learned during this period.

Also, if you want to learn how to be creative with your hair. Click here to watch easy natural hairstyles you can try with your 4C hair.

Learn a new language

Some of us love to learn new languages but are pressed for time. I am always thrilled to meet a multilingual individual. If you also speak French, you’ve got me. Moreover, an added language asides from English can be a career advantage.

Most multinational businesses prefer to work with multilingual people more. You can also learn a new language for your next trip or vacation. The interesting part is that you can learn these languages online like the Spanish language.

You can look up Spanish schools in Colombia to learn in a fun and interactive way via Skype. This makes it easy to learn Spanish anywhere in the world. It comes in handy to know a handful of words when you visit a new place.

You don’t want to use weird sign language to communicate with an Italian for example who can’t speak English. What a task it would be for you. So, learning a new language is always useful for work or leisure.

Take on a new project

Another thing to do during self-isolation is to take on a new project. You can start doing all those things you’ve put off for the longest time. If you are planning to be an author, now is the time to work on it. If you want to own a blog, you can also start working on it. Don’t overthink your goals or dream, bring them alive by starting.

Enjoy Family time

Family is really everything. We work so much that we rarely bond with family or friends. This lockdown forced me to get to know more about my siblings. Sometimes, they do things that make me feel like screaming. I feel this way because I don’t know much about each person in my family.

Some of us also feel the same way. I wonder how dads who are always in transit I. Business trips are coping. It must be difficult too. The good thing about this stay-home thing is that you get to have quality family time. For those of us who work from home, you can check my post on work-from-home outfit ideas.

10 Interesting things to do while Self-isolating

It is not wrong to want to look fashionable at the airport. We all want to look our best in a new environment. First impression matters right!. The sad part about a bad airport dressing is that you may hold up the check-in line. Or worse still make yourself uncomfortable all through your flight. I would also share my personal mistakes on my first flight. As always, I wanted to look my best. So, I wore a tight-fitting mid-riff dress. Oh God!, I was practically adjusting the outfit all through. Also, I was mindful of my water intake so that I won’t need the bathroom. It would have been a nightmare!. In order to avoid a horrid situation at the airport, here are 5 common airport wardrobe mistakes to avoid when flying.

5 common airport wardrobe mistakes

Uncomfortable clothing

It is okay to want to be fashionable on a flight. It is preferable you go for clothes that are very comfortable. Avoid tight clothes or risque outfits like mini skirts. Tight outfits may give in while you’re moving your luggage around. Moreover, you will feel so uncomfortable and too conscious of your outfit. There are horrid cases of wardrobe malfunction while reaching for luggage compartment on the air plane. Also, another outfit you must avoid wearing is a jumpsuit. Jumpsuit are very stylish to wear but uncomfortable for a bath room break. So, for comfort, you can wear track suits or shirt with loose fitting denim pants.

Putting on heavy metal Jewelry

Jewelry has a way of elevating your looks. It is a simple way you can look expensive. Also, you may set off alarms at security checks if you wear large metal jewelry or bracelets. So, if you must wear such jewelry keep it in a bag to be worn after check-in. Although, not all jewelry is going set off the security alarms. Jewelry like necklaces, chokers or rings is okay for the airport. The rule is that the jewelry should not be heavy like a statement piece or made of heavy metals. This will allow your seamless check-in at the airport.

Wearing high heels

Heels are perfect for board room meetings or after parties. But for airports, it is advisable to avoid heels altogether. You will have a long distance in the airport as well as stand on a queue through security. This can be quite uncomfortable with heels. Although, some of us can’t do without our heels, go for low heels or kitten heels for comfort. Your legs will thank you.

Opt for uncomplicated shoes

Another common airport wardrobe mistake you should avoid is wearing shoes with too much lace or without a zipper. We all know that you need to pull off your shoes through security. So, you may hold up the line while struggling to unstrap or pull off your shoes. For ease, opt for shoes that are easy to pull off like slip-on slippers, or loafers or sneakers.

Sweaters or cardigan

Another common airport wardrobe mistake to avoid is putting on a sweater. There is nothing wrong with preparing for the weather. At times, it can be cold also around your take off the environment. Sweaters are a bad outfit option to wear to the airport. This is because the airplane can be stuffy sometimes. So, you will be warm in your outfit. The best option is to layer your outfit to the airport. This will enable you to easily shed the layers as needed when onboard a plane. For me, a tank top layered with a jacket on denim pants is a perfect airport outfit.

5 common airport wardrobe mistakes to avoid

Badagry is one part of Lagos that is rarely visited. Although, there are people residing in this part of Lagos. The journey to Badagry is very long (almost 4 hours). It was stressful, but the highlight of my day is my visit to Suntan beach, Badagry.

The fastest means of transportation is through bikes before the Lagos state government banned it. We saw that coming though, the bike men were quite rough. Also, it is quite unsafe to take a bike on an express road. I was curious to know Badagry so I went on a day trip.

There are so many beaches in Badagry. So, a tricycle driver suggested that we visit Suntan Beach since it is very affordable. Here is all you need to know and fun things to do at Suntan beach on your visit to badagry Lagos.

Transportation to Suntan beach badagry Lagos

I started my trip to Badagry from Orile, Lagos. We left around to 12 pm so there was no bus available going to Badagry. So, we had to take another bus to Mile 2 bus stop. Our transportation fee per person to the Badagry roundabout was NGN700 per person at the park.

Although some say it can be cheaper if we leave home earlier. Anyways, the trip was a long and bumpy ride. The roads are so bad. Also, avoid wearing white on your trip because it will be off white at the time you get to badgry. If you have any respiratory issues or easily irritable by dust, please wear a nose mask.

The was quite fun too. The passengers on my bus were quite friendly. We made fun of a guy who bought a Bluetooth earpiece at the park without testing it. He didn’t have his mobile phone with him but he had faith it would work.

Another passenger helped tests it with his mobile phone and alas it worked. We highlighted at badagry roundabout famished since we didn’t ear breakfast. Also, my mobile phone battery was already low because we had no light the previous day. We paid to charge our phone and fed ourselves with yam spiced with sugar and fried eggs.

Where is Suntan beach Badagry located? Although, it is quite difficult to say the real address. However, we then took a tricycle for NGN50 to Suntan beach. It is just on the expressway to the Republic of Benin.

Suntan Beach Badagry Gate Fee and fun things to do

Suntan beach Badagry is close to the roadside so it is hard to miss. The gate fee for entry is NGN500 naira per adult. The beach is one of the cleanest natural beach I have ever seen. Also there are lovely coconut palm that gives a lovely and serene outlook.

There are secluded beach huts at the Suntan beach for use at no cost. Maybe because we came in quite late in the evening though. Also, You can get barbecue beef, drinks and tropical coconut drink at the beach. Here are so fun activities you do at Suntan beach.

Horse riding

Horse riding is one of the major side attractions at Suntan beach, Badagry. There were quite a number of horse riders to choose from. We took part in the horse riding with the aid of the owner of the horse. I can’t really ride a horse on my own so I let them guide us anyways.

You don’t want to get thrown off the back of a horse. It’s a bad experience. We were charged NGN300 per person to ride the horse. Also, I ‘ll advise you not to take pictures while on the horses. We were charged extra fee for taking pictures with them. Funny right.

Photoshoot

The beach is very beautiful so you take good pictures for Instagram or Facebook. Also, you can also do a pre-wedding, product shoot or birthday shoot at the beach. The beach wasn’t crowded like other beaches so there a lot of space to take good pictures.

Swimming

Suntan beach water is neat and inviting. So, it is okay to swim and enjoy the waters of the beach. Although, I didn’t swim or should I say I can’t swim. So, I can’t say if the waters are too deep for learners. Either way, who wouldn’t at least want to dip themselves in neat beach water?

My only reservation about the beach is the spiritual exercise that goes on there. It’s quite creepy though we started seeing white candles, fruits of all sort that were thrown into the beach at its bank. A white garment church is also beside the beach demarcated by a wooden wall.

Overall, it was a fun day trip to Suntan Beach, Badagry, we left the beach late at night at 7 pm I guess. So, if you’re visiting Badagry soonest, check at Suntan beach to have fun.

Suntan beach Badagry is just one of the beaches in Lagos state. You can also check out on my post other beaches you can visit in Lagos. Also you can watch my vlog on my visit to landmark beach lagos. Don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe my channel.

Suntan beach Badagry Lagos: fun things to do & know

The part of traveling that I don’t look forward to is packing my things. It is too stressful to deal with for me. Also, I get too stressed packing, so, it is inevitable for me not to forget some basic things I need. Sometimes, I find myself packing things that I don’t need or stuffing my bag with too many things. Whether you’re a frequent traveler or not, I guess you can relate. So as a fashion blogger, here are 5 mistakes to avoid when packing for your travel. So, one mistake to avoid when packing you’re is to avoid last-minute stuffing of your travel bag. This is to enable you to pack all you need for the last details.

Pack Versatile Fashion pieces

Whether your trip is short or long, you need versatile outfits. This will save you a lot of space and makes it easier to plan for your outfit your stay. Avoid packing denim made of thick material or other heavy outfits, this will automatically add to the weight of your bag. Pack stylish light denim pants that you easily style with several tops. Other versatile outfits you need for travel are tank tops, bralette, shorts, neutral color Tee shirts (white, black, beige), co-ord outfits, loungewear like tracksuits, etc. You can shop this two-piece knitwear from My graceful place at an affordable price. It is a versatile outfit to own. You can wear it as a set or separately with another outfit. You will get 20% off extra if you shop with my coupon code: Trendsenstylez20.

Packing the wrong shoes

Sometimes, you may have your vacation or travel days all planned out. Maybe the aim of your travel is for a relative’s wedding. Of course, you would have packed your wedding guest outfit, shoes, jewelry, makeup box for the glam, etc. But after the wedding, what next? You may want to take in the environment and find that you don’t have shoes for a stroll. In other to avoid this, pack shoes that have multiple uses. So, you don’t find yourself packing shoes you may end not using. The good you get to lose extra weight from shoes. I’ll suggest you pack casual slip-on shoes, a pair of sandals, Flat shoes, and pumps. With these pairs of shoes, you will have shoes for every occasion on your next travel. I am loving this black mule from All she needs. It is can be worn for a casual stroll or to get together.

Missing out Loungewear /Nightwear

Most travelers miss out on packing nightwear in their luggage. In most cases, you end wearing your regular outfit to bed at night. If you’re lucky to pack tee shirts, it can also be used as makeshift sleepwear. So, while packing, remember to pack sleepwear into your bag. You can opt for silk nightgown, pajamas, dressing robe, etc. And of course, pack a bonnet for your hair. We sometimes miss this too. It helps to keep your curls intact so, you just have to style for any outing. You don’t want to go about searching for a salon due to messy hair after a good night’s rest.

Not packing for the weather

Another mistake travelers make is packing only clothes for their current weather conditions. We all know that there are varied weather conditions being experienced in different parts of the world. I have left Lagos feeling hot on my last trip to touch down in Ondo which was quite humid. You bet I wasn’t ready for the change in weather within the same country. So, if you’re packing, pick clothes that are suitable for all weather. Pack light clothes like a tank top, chiffon as well as cardigan or outfit you can layer for cold. Thank me later because you will be ready to face whatever weather in your environment. You can shop this knit cardigan from My graceful place at an affordable price. It is a versatile outfit to own. You will get 20% off extra if you shop with my coupon code: Trendsenstylez20.

Rolling clothes in Luggage

I must confess that I suck at packing. I just throw all my stuff in the bag which makes it fill up space quickly. So, I end up carrying two bags instead of one. That is if my clothes and other items were well arranged, I don’t really need two bags. To manage space, a friend suggested rolling my clothes into my bag. This works to manage space but the end results are wrinkled clothes. So, I have to iron such clothes before wearing them. To avoid this, it is better to fold your clothes neatly. This will keep it ready for use. So you won’t have to curse under your breath because you hate ironing clothes.

5 Mistakes to avoid when packing for travel

Another nature reserve on Lekki-ajah express way is Lufasi Nature park Lagos. It is a nature reserve built to preserve wild life from extinction as a result of Lekki penisula development. I had such an exciting time visiting LCC. So, I was curious to visit Lufasi nature park since they are on the same axis.

Little did I know that Lufasi Nature park is way farther on Lekki-ajah way. From Oshodi where I took off from, it felt like a journey of thousand miles. Coupled with the traffic around Osbourne road as well as intermittently. Interestingly, I had no idea how to locate this nature park.

Thanks to google, all I had to do was to input my present location to find this park. I had to do this so as to avoid a repeat of my experience trying to locate LCC. (I literally missed my way).

How to Locate Lufasi Nature park and Gate fee

It is quite easy to locate Lufasi nature park. Lufasi nature park Lagos is located at Majek 1st gate bus stop beside crown estate/ fara park estate. If you’re coming from the mainland like I did, simply board a bus to ajah. From ajah, take a tricycle going to awoyaya and stop at Majek 1st gate bus stop.

The nature park is just by the road side on your right. The gate fee for entry is 1000naira for adult and 500naira for children. Also, you can request for a tour guide for free at the park. On entry, one may not know that Lufasi park extends further inside. I explored every part of the park; mini zoo, Lake Nora, anthills, except Ekki forest.

Ekki forest is one part of Lufasi nature park that is rarely explored. That forest can give you chills. Even the tour guide stop close to the forest but never enter. So, I stopped my exploration at the entrance of Ekki forest just like anyone else. (My little sister was too scared to go into the forest with me).

Lufasi park also has some mini huts, stone seats, table tennis, football pitch as well as children playground. Some parts of Lufasi nature park is built like a mini village. One would think that some Nollywood village movies were shot in this park. Coupled with the thick forest , shrubs, ferns, anthills, and mini lake, it is perfect for shooting a movie.

Although, my first experience was at Omu resort but I didn’t ride it alone. This is for fear of falling off the horse. lol.

Shop at the art and craft store

Lufasi nature park also has a store that sells arts, craft and souvenirs. I really love artsy fashion pieces. The store has artsy jewelries like necklaces and bracelets for sale. So, you can shop for nice paintings and drawing as well as get nice souvenirs from Lufasi park.

Lufasi Nature park Lagos: 7 fun things to do

In Lagos state, there are some very fine recreational parks that you can visit on a budget. Most of these parks are free to access while others require a token fee. Some of the free parks are Johnson Jakande park, Muri Okunola park, etc. One of such parks that is free to access is Ndubuisi Kanu park.

Where is Ndubuisi Kanu park located? Nduibuisi Kalu park Ikeja is located a few walks from Shop-rite behind JJT park. This park is also lovely with some facilities to enable you to have a good time. Ndubuisi Kanu park has a children’s playground so it is a good park for the family.

The gate fee into Ndubuisi Kanu park is free. So, you need not pay to access the park. The only time you will be asked for a fee is if you’re with camera gadgets. I still don’t understand the idea behind the fee though.

Also, there is free wifi available for use. Although due to the recent risk of using free wifi, it is not really good to use random wifi. Parks have so many uses, so, here are some things you can do at Ndubuisi Kalu park.

Things to do at Ndubuisi Kanu park

Asides from the children’s playground, there are some lovely huts with large spaces at this park. It also has a restroom for times when you need to use the restroom. You can also find some brands selling their products at Ndubuisi Kanu park.

Although these brands are mobile so you may not find them when you visit. Food is a necessity for every outing. Hence, you can get food, drinks, and barbecue beef at this park. Although I can’t say if the food or drinks are affordable.

Since this park is strategically located a few distances from shop rite which sells food at a cheap rate, you could come with your own food to the park.

Pre-wedding shoot

One very affordable place to take a good pre-wedding photograph is parked. You and your partner can visit Ndubusi Kanu park for your photoshoot. The layout and aesthetic are a beautiful backdrop for photographs.

You can take nice pictures at the huts, close to the fountain or beside the trees. Since it is free to access space, all you need to pay for is the photographer. It solves the problem of looking for a studio for your pre-wedding shoot.

Host your hang-out or parties

Another thing you can do at Ndubuisi Kanu park is to have a hangout or host a party . The park has large huts and spaces where you can host parties. Ndubuisi Kanu Park: 5 Fun things to know and do

Kalakuta museum was the home of Late Legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti. This place once housed his followers i.e. his band members and dancers. It doubles as his home as well as a studio where he does his music.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti was huge resistance to the government during his time. This made the then government send soldiers to destroy his house twice. So, the current Kalakuta republic museum is his 3rd house. Fela must have gotten his spirit of activism from his mother who was also a strong activist. She also fought for Nigerian independence.

After his death in 1997, his children, family, and fans decided to transform his house into a museum. This will be a place where lovers of Fela can keep his spirit alive. The name Kalakuta was coined from Fela Cell’s room “Calcutta” during the time he was in prison. Another place to visit in memory of Fela is the New Afrika Shrine.

Kalakuta Museum gate fee and Location

Kalakuta museum is located at 7, Gbemisola Street, Ikeja. You can take a tricycle before you get to Ikeja under the bridge to the place. The place is very easy to find, a short walk from the Allen Avenue bus stop. The gate fee for entry to the museum is 1000 naira. The museum has a ground floor where you can souvenirs. Also, it has a rooftop bar where you can order food, drinks, and palm wine.

In other to access the rooftop, you will pay a fee of 1000 naira. This has to be done 24 hours before a visit to the bar through their Facebook page. Fela’s graveyard is just in front of the building. He died at the age of 53.

Facts about Kalakuta republic museum

After making payment at the reception, a tour guide gives a tour of the museum. He is trained to give tourists as much insight into Fela’s life which is the purpose of the museum. The tour starts off on the ground floor where some of his albums are explained.

The album that I found interesting was that called, “Confusion“. Here Fela describes Ojuelegba, Lagos state as a place of confusion. To date, this place can be really confusing. It has four roads branching off this bus stop and it is full of people. For me, Ojuelegba feels like the busiest place in Lagos.

Tour of his museum

There are pictures of Fela’s family, children, wives, concubines as well as a girlfriend at the Museum. The museum also has pictures of Fela as an actor in a movie that was destroyed. In memory of this Legend, Felabration takes place every year at his shrine.

This place is a few distances away from the museum. Fela’s room is still kept just the way he left it before his death. With well-arranged clothes on a rack, his bed, and pillows. One of Fela’s main instruments is a Saxophone. His Saxophone is still being kept in his room to date.

Kalakuta museum also preserved some memoirs from the life of Fela. His first marriage to his wife abroad, children as well as tours around the world. An article showing the political party Fela founded to run for the presidency is at the museum.

These phrases caught my eye, MOP is for the poor not for the rich. Fela stood for the poor and had so many followers under this party. His ideology was greatly influenced by his fraternity with Malcome X and a black panther.

After your tour at the museum, you also visit Johnson Jakande park at Ikeja. This park is not too far from Shoprite. Also, the Kalakuta museum has rooms available if you want to lodge. Click here to read other fun things to do in Ikeja, Lagos.

Kalakuta Museum, Ikeja: interesting things to know and do

Lekki conservation center Lagos is exciting, fun, and loved by the fearless. This is because it is known as the famous longest canopy walk in Africa. My day out at LCC was quite interesting and fun. Lekki Conservation park is located at Lekki epe expressway, Tipa bus stop. I almost missed my way trying to locate LCC on Sallah day. The reason is that one Lout ( Agbero) misled us, so I found myself in Ajah. This conservation center is also a home for wildlife animals like crocodiles, monkeys, etc.

Where is Lekki conservation Center located & Entrance fee?

One of the best things to do in Lekki is to visit the Lekki conservation center. After finding myself in Ajah, I took another bus back to Tippa bus stop. The park is just opposite this bus stop at Lekki. How much does it cost to get into Lekki conservation center? The gate fee is 1000 naira per adult and 200 naira per child. You are to pay an extra 1000 naira if you’re to participate in the canopy walk.

After payment, all tourist are to wait in a hall to led to the nature reserve. This is to allow entry into the conservation center in batches. The waiting hall is so beautiful. In my years on earth, I am enamored by the beauty of a bamboo roof. Such a nice innovation. Also there a small food canteen at LCC. You can get foods, finger foods, drinks, etc. The price of such foods is quite pricey. This may be because LCC is located on the island and food items are sometimes double the price of the mainland.

The tour guide usually pre-inform individuals not to take food along into the forest reserve. So, I lost my small chops to the monkeys in the forest because i didn’t hear the instruction. Any food item attracts the monkeys in the forest and these animals will harass you until it is taken from you.

The walk into the nature reserve at Lekki conservation center was a long one. Also, there is warning signage on the trees informing tourist not to rest on the wooden bridge. This because the wood may snap and the person will fall into the marshy swamp or be eaten by crocodiles. What time does lekki conservation center close? The opening hours is from 8am to 5.30pm daily.

Fun things to do at Lekki Conservation Center Lagos

The highlight of my visit is the Lekki conservation center canopy walk. However, there are more fun activities you can do asides its famous canopy walk. You can also opt to visit only the family park. The gate of 1000 naira gives you access to the family park only. In order to enjoy the canopy walk, you need to pay another 1000 naira. So, the walk on the canopy is optional for tourist.

The family park is more like JJT park or Ndubisi Kalu park. You can have a fun picnic with your family. Also, you can buy food from this park. If you love finger foods, they’ve got your covered. There are facilities that your kids can play with. The grown ups can engage in a game of tennis or play soccer.

I love this park a lot. There are about 2 fish ponds at the family park.

Canopy walk

One of the fun and exciting things to do in Lekki conservation center is the canopy walk. I was terrified while on the canopy walk. If you have phobia for height, I would recommend you don’t look down at all. To access this activity, you are to pay 1000 naira. Children are not allowed to climb this canopy except teenagers.

The canopy is built such as an arc i.e. at a point on the walk, you keep climbing higher before descending. Also, there are intermittent stop points on the canopy. So, you can catch your breath and brace yourself on your journey. We all had to climb the canopy in batches of six or more to avoid so much weight.

You’re free to quit the walk at any point. A lady did because she was terrified.

Family Park

Another fun place to explore at LCC is the family park. The entrance fee of 1000 naira per adult grants you access to this park. A lot families only visit the family park at LCC. While other enjoy the canopy walk while the younger children are led to the park.

There are array of activities to participate in for fun. The park has bouncing castles for children. So, your kids can have as much fun on the castle. LCC family park also have lovely huts where you hold a get together, birth party or family picnic. This huts are of various sizes, you can opt for small hut if you’re just two or max four people.

The family park also have some game boards for fun like Chess , monopoly, draft etc. Although these boards games are no longer in good shape due to poor maintenance. LCC park would have been fun with the board games. You can go along with ball for those who love football.

Finger foods also available at the park like barbecue chicken, drinks, snacks, ice-cream etc. So you can visit the park with cash for your purchase of foods and drinks. Moreover, tourist are not allowed to carry food items through the forest reserve to family park to prevent harassment from the wild animals.

Tree house

LCC also have a tree top house that children/teenagers can engage in at the park. This tree house is about 21m tall. So, your younger children can opt to climb the tree house in place of canopy walk.
