You can shop for fashion items in all categories; clothing, accessories like bags, clutches, shoes, swimwear, hats, and jewelry. The website is very easy to navigate due to categorization. You can also choose to type in what you want in their search box. I will recommend you check the new in for the latest trendy pieces and the sales section for clearance deals.
Shipping and delivery of orders
Shipping of items on shein depends on your location. Here in Nigeria, it takes about 3weeks for your order to arrive. You can get your order faster in some regions or through express shipping. I prefer the standard shipping option because it is free for orders above $49. So, I normally fill my cart or add the item to my wish list until it’s around $50. This is useful if you’re not in a hurry and want to save on shipping fees.
No additional tax fee or custom duty applies to my order. I only pay a holding fee at my local post office to pick up my order. This may be different for other regions.

The goal of this post is to share with you my best and worst buys from shein. More like Shein product review of things I bought. However, I have a collection of shein items and may buy more. I have my eyes on designer dupes on shein these days. So, irrespective of my worst purchases, I will still shop from this brand.
I have also shared a post on how to shop online and minimize the bad buys. One tip I failed to follow was reading reviews from other shoppers. Shein is like an e-commerce listing store so it is no news to shop bad buys from crappy sellers. So, below are my best and worst buys from Shein.
Shein product review: Leather dress, organza top, and jewelry
In this Shein product review, I will share both my best and worst buys. My best buys from shein are mostly clothing. Although I have bought more clothes on this site than any other item. The top on the list is a leather dress. I love this dress because it is versatile. I wear it as a jacket or a mini dress.
You know that it is fun having a lot of use for your outfit. Another is my organza floral top with bow detail. It is a playful and fun top to own.
Also, I can’t stop loving the three-piece jewelry set that I bought for about $3. I thought it would fade like another cheap necklace I have bought from Aliexpress and previously from shein. The fun part is that I can wear each necklace singly or layered. So, I love its versatility, and plus it didn’t fade after so many uses. That’s a win for me.
Loungewear set
You know loungewear fashion is in right now. I have always wanted to own my own lounging pant set. Something that is perfect for the home and a comfy casual outfit you can wear to the airport or grocery run. So, I shopped for a leopard print set from shein and I loved it.
The pant comes with a drawstring so you are sure of getting your fit. Another lovely item that I have worn severally is my ruched-sleeve blazer. As a working professional, I bought it for my office wardrobe. It is a good base color for layering and of course to keep the cold away at the office. I have styled it in several ways to get the most use out of it.
Tulle Skirt
There is another fashion item that I am yet to decide which category to place in. It is my white tulle skirt. The tulle skirt is also another versatile piece to own. You can wear it for a casual outing or for a day or night with a boo. I really love this skirt. My only issue is that it doesn’t fit a size 6 on the waist. I am usually a size 6 so I may size down for my skirt haul.
Shein product review; worst buys
Just like every online shopping haul, I also had my worst buys from shein. My monogram necklaces are at the top of the list. It faded one week after use. I was so disappointed with this. Another is my bag set. It is a lovely bag set but the large bag gave in after several uses. Shein bags are not made to carry a lot of things. So I would not recommend shein bags for you if you need bags for carrying many things.
Bodysuit
I love a good body suit. A bodysuit is a wardrobe staple to own. It is a top you can pair with a lot of bottoms; pants, shorts, etc. Click here to read stylish ways to wear bodysuits effortlessly. I bought a bodysuit from shein which I loved so I made another purchase. It is a lace body suit. I am so unhappy about this purchase because it doesn’t fit a size 6. The cup of the lace was bigger than my boobs. I know my boobs are quite small more like an A-cup. So, I was quite disappointed.
Mini bag
Mini bags are fun bags to own. This bag is a huge trend you need in your closet. Although some brands go as far as micro mini bags I prefer mini bags. This type of bag is made for your basic essentials. So, I bought a leopard mini bag from shein. I loved it for as long as it lasted.
This bag gave in within one month of use. I gave it out to my sister who repaired it for her use. My experience shopping bags from shein is not really amazing. So, I can’t really recommend shopping for bags from shein if you’re looking to carry lots of things in them.

Frozen foods, fresh foods, vegetables, snacks, kitchen utensils, and wholesale foodstuff from mile 12 market delivered to your door. You can shop for complete meal ingredients from supermart without leaving your bed. That’s a relief this period you know.
The website is very is easy to use. You can check shop different categories any food items of your choice. I bought semolina, pasta and frozen drum stick chicken from supermart.

Supermart store can cater to anywhere in Lagos state. I would have loved to shop their vegetables and mile 12 market but it currently not available due to the lockdown. So, you can look for them as soon as things are back to normal. There are no options to deliver their food items to anywhere outside Lagos.
On the website, you are to choose your location before you can shop on Supermart store. This opens up the available delivery window for your specific locations. So, I chose Monday between 4- 9pm. My order got to me by 7 pm at Oshodi. The driver called me as he got closer to my location. Although, they normally pre-inform shoppers before delivery. But due to the uncertainty of the lockdown as well as restricted movement, you may not be pre-advised.
Customer service
You all know how I feel about the customer service of any brand. My day job is customer relationship management so it’s a big deal for me if a brand had good customer service. So, for supermart, their customer service is top-notch. They give a swift response to your queries and feedback. I got a response swiftly on the status of my order via their email support. This is very commendable of the Supermart brand. So, I was assured that my order will have no issues.
Review of Supermart online Grocery store
Personally, I know how it feels to shop at the local market at this time. Almost everyone is using a face mask and the reality that you could get hurt sinks in. Also, I love convenient shopping and Supermart offers me just that. The fact that I can shop for groceries of all categories from my mobile device while lounging is quite interesting. So, it rules out the stress of searching for food items in the market. Also, there are so many food brands out there but supermart tops them. I love the fact that you can get vegetables as well as other local food items from their online store. We all are stuck in the home this period to contain the current pandemic. I know it can be super boring. What are the fun things to do while self-isolating? It can be quite challenging for some of us. This is because we are already used to our very busy lives.
You can imagine how it feels for those of us working regular jobs and entrepreneurs. Jobs are now being moved home so it is not a long holiday or an annual leave. Also, after you complete the task assigned to you from the office, it can so boring for the rest of the day.
The worse part is that you can’t just leave the house to the park or a nice resort. So, I will be sharing 10 things to do while self-isolating. These are the things I have been doing to keep myself sane through these trying times.
Work out / Exercise
It is possible to sleep in bed most of the day for lack of what to do. Another of the 10 things to do while self-isolating is to work. Exercise is a simple way to keep fit and boost your immune system. A healthy body is ready to fight whatever disease is thrown at it.
So, you can adopt a simple exercise routine to keep your body going. I am not really a fan of exercise so I won’t say it will be a walk in the park. Especially if it is something you rarely do. But hey baby steps, you look for simple exercise or follow some fitness YouTuber for tips.

Read A Book
Another of the 10 interesting things to do while self-isolating is to read a book. In our very crazy world, it is very hard to keep up a reading habit. My colleague at work is always on my case to read good books to gain useful knowledge. My response is as usual- no time.
I have two books by Robert Kiyosaki with me. So, since there is plenty of time at hand, I have started reading the books. Get good personal development books to read. You can get an e-book if you’re not a fan of hard copy books.
I prefer hard copy though because I get distracted easily on my phone. So, I may not concentrate when reading an e-book due to social media distractions. Either way, do you.
Another thing you can do to keep yourself busy is to play a good game. Games can be fun and some games make you a strategic thinker. There are so many options you could choose from. Board games like scrabble or chess can be played with your family.
Also, you play a solo game like a rubric cube. This stay-home period has opened my eyes to see how I suck at playing rubric cube. I also scatter it and then arrange it. Kudos to people who can figure it out, like my boyfriend and younger brother, I envy you.
Movies
Watching movies is a good way to pass time. Some of us have gotten so busy that we forget to relax. I love watching movies during my free time. But sometimes I fall asleep watching movies too. You can watch movies on your phone from youtube, Netflix, or any other source.
We all know that it is way more fun watching movies at the cinema. The sound effect, popcorn, the environment, etc. You can bring your local cinema home while you entertain yourself and your family. I can recommend some movies I watched on Netflix; white house down, Furie, coffee and Kareem, Proud Mary, Maria, etc. The list is endless on Netflix whatever movie genre you love.
Learn a new skill
Most of us complain about not having much time on how hands to upgrade our skills. Instead of spending so much time reading all the negative news on social media, focus on other things instead. Another of the 10 things to do while self-isolating is to learn a new skill.
You can also register for an online course to upgrade your degree. It’s time to be worthy of that promotion. These are simple things to help boost your career. You can learn a new skill on Coursera, enroll in an online program or learn from skillshare. We all know that most firms look for what you can bring to the table before assigning a bigger task to you.
You can also learn how to improve your makeup skills or styling skills. Subscribe to youtube vlogs or fashion blogs to brush up on those skills.
Up your cooking skills
Personally, I eat more than I cook. So, I am trying to change all that. The whole culture of take-out after work or having siblings around makes me rarely cook. Moreover, cooking is not my thing per se. If you find yourself in this bucket like me, dear it’s time to learn more cooking skills.
My dear colleague recently opened her food vlog so I am hoping to learn new skills from her. You can also do more cooking this period too to brush those skills.
Be creative
Another of the 10 things to do while self-isolating is to fuel your creativity. Some of us are both creative and professionals so there is little time to excel in the two. So, as a blogger, this is one of the freest times for me to work on my creativity. I am basically creating content for social media platforms as well as my blog. You don’t need to own a blog to be creative.
Take up skills like art and craft, painting, knitting, etc. You can also read blogs on simple home DIY skills that you can apply. Read topics on “How to” available on the internet. There are so many free skill-building articles and youtube videos you can learn from. Below are my own improved layout skills I have learned during this period.
Some of us love to learn new languages but are pressed for time. I am always thrilled to meet a multilingual individual. If you also speak French, you’ve got me. Moreover, an added language asides from English can be a career advantage.
Most multinational businesses prefer to work with multilingual people more. You can also learn a new language for your next trip or vacation. The interesting part is that you can learn these languages online like the Spanish language.
You can look up Spanish schools in Colombia to learn in a fun and interactive way via Skype. This makes it easy to learn Spanish anywhere in the world. It comes in handy to know a handful of words when you visit a new place.
You don’t want to use weird sign language to communicate with an Italian for example who can’t speak English. What a task it would be for you. So, learning a new language is always useful for work or leisure.
Take on a new project
Another thing to do during self-isolation is to take on a new project. You can start doing all those things you’ve put off for the longest time. If you are planning to be an author, now is the time to work on it. If you want to own a blog, you can also start working on it. Don’t overthink your goals or dream, bring them alive by starting.
Enjoy Family time
Family is really everything. We work so much that we rarely bond with family or friends. This lockdown forced me to get to know more about my siblings. Sometimes, they do things that make me feel like screaming. I feel this way because I don’t know much about each person in my family.
Some of us also feel the same way. I wonder how dads who are always in transit I. Business trips are coping. It must be difficult too. Personally, I mostly shop for fashion items from s. But my brother bought most of his tech items needed for his school project from Aliexpress. Tech stuff is quite expensive over here in Nigeria. Also, I choose items that offer free shipping to Nigeria.
Aliexpress online shopping website makes it easy for you to shop in your local currency depending on where you are. It has been programmed to provide such services based on your GPS or IP address.
Because of the ease of shopping from Aliexpress and wide range of sellers, you can do Aliexpress drop shipping. If you need side hustle to earn more money for yourself, opt to drop ship from Aliexpress. You can do Aliexpress drop shipping to Amazon, etsy, e-bay etc.
Shipping and delivery options
Aliexpress online shopping takes 25-55 working days to get your order in Nigeria. Although, I got some items earlier usually delivered to the nearest post office to your home. Since there are different sellers on this site, items in your cart may arrive separately. I don’t like this about shopping on Aliexpress.
You have to take more than one trip to the post office and pay a handling fee at different times. What I do is wait for all items to arrive so I can pick them up at once. Shipping may be faster for other regions closer to the seller’s country.
The above wait time is for standard free shipping. There are other options for faster delivery or express, fees apply though.

As I said earlier, I shop mostly for fashion items from Aliexpress. The one time I bought a photography fluffy background from this site was because I couldn’t get it elsewhere. So, you either hit or miss especially when the items are cheap too.
Aliexpress best buys
One of my best buys from Aliexpress is a rattan bag. I have used my rattan bag from this site for over two years now. Any time I use it, I keep getting compliments to date. It is uniquely made, unlike regular rattan bags. Rattan bags are very fashionable bags. You can wear for parties, casual outings or work. I also bought another stylish design for my big sister. So, I can recommend shopping for rattan bags from Aliexpress.
Another of my best buy from this site is a brown belted dress. It is a mini dress. I wear it mostly for casual outings and to Lagos fashion and design week. I styled it with a pop sock. So, I can say shopping for clothing is okay. The dress is not made from flimsy material.
So, I can say it is okay for its price. You can dress up a dupe or cheap dress with jewelry and accessories. It is a chic way to look expensive on a budget. You can still stun in a cheap outfit.
I have also had my fair share of disappointment too on this site. If you read my blog on misconceptions about the use of anklets, I guess you know I love them. So, I shopped for a lovely anklet from Aliexpress. It is just as beautiful as on the seller’s site. The anklet lasted for just three weeks of use. It broke and I couldn’t repair it. What a waste!
That’s not all, even the necklaces I bought faded so fast from gold to black under two wears. The worst is a wristwatch I ordered. Oh lord, it’s a far cry from what I ordered. What do I expect since it is so damn cheap? It faded like other jewelry from Aliexpress. My sister’s skin developed irritation to the wristwatch too. Thank God for my skin.

Will I recommend shopping for jewelry from Aliexpress? Hell no! Others may have a different experience but mine has been bad. Another of my worst buys from Aliexpress online shopping website is underwear – lingerie. I was sold by the beauty of this site. Nice sexy options you can stun your man with.
But I was disappointed too with my purchase. The cup of the bra was quite big and the bust doesn’t fit. The panties were nice though. The second lingerie set was a total loss. It looks horrible from what was ordered. So, I will not recommend shopping for lingerie from Aliexpress.
Like I said earlier, every influencer needs a banging photo prop for product photography, so, I bought one. I really loved the fluffy mats that you can lay your product on for a nice background. I am yet to decide if this item falls under best or worst buy. It is nice, and fluffy but smaller than a doormat.
Even a pair of shoes can barely fit in. But it has been useful notwithstanding. Well, you may decide for me in the comments. So, this mat is basically hanging in its own category.

So, during the period when I was experimenting with turtlenecks, I decided to try out some turtleneck gowns. People will first think of a turtleneck top whenever a turtleneck is mentioned. It is the commonest turtleneck we see around, which is not surprising.
