There is this ruckus on the internet about millennials vs Gen Z styling. Who dresses better, millennials or Gen Z? You already know my answer to this, millennials all the way. I have seen so many styling videos on Instagram comparing these two era styles. For the gen Z’s, it is all about low waisted skirts or pants and showing some skin. However, for Gen Z, we love to be more modest, high waisted pants, peplum tops to cover up as much and of course, we go denim crazy.
The fashion gods heard us and gave us these 2025 fashion trends millennials love. Who doesn’t love a comeback? I have written about 2018 fashion trends that had a comeback. One of such accessory trends that will be huge in 2025 is the belt bags. I saw this designer inspired belt bags on Temu but I had to pass on it. However, if I think I need it then I will get it.

Should I start with accessories or jump into outfits first. That is how excited I am to share this news with our millennial readers out there. Don’t fret. You can style borrow from retro looks you love that had a comeback. And you don’t have to stress about styling them too. This is because, you saw it everywhere during your era so it basically second skin to you.

Skinny Jeans
Last year, 2024 fashion trends said no to skinny jeans. They replaced it with tailored jeans, straight cut or relaxed fit jeans. However, coconut head like me still rocked my skinny jeans. Who says I cannot wear what I want?
This year, skinny jeans is back and better. If you’d rather go for boho chic styles like boot cut or flared hem pants or skinny tailored pants. For me I’ll pass on the flared denim pants and stick with what I know. Flared denim that tightens on the knee is not my cup of tea. But it is your vibe, absolutely rock.
Peplum tops
I went crazy with Peplum tops and sets in 2018- 2019. Writing about peplum tops gives me a nostalgia of this cute peplum set that love. I wore it to work a lot, the fabric used was stretchy yet stiff, but I loved it. Some of my colleagues at work hated but it was my jam. Fast forward to 2025 and now peplum tops are having a moment.
I highly recommend you shop for cool peplum tops with fabrics that are breathable. Learning from my former top. Now I can wear peplum as an accessory and not an actual outfit. Will I pass on peplum tops, not really. But I have to wear it, it is an accessory. My Loewe dupe peplum belt is a great option if you want to try out peplum. I still regret why I got it in red not black.
Denim on denim outfits
Canadian tuxedo like they call it is a fun outfit to wear any season. Now that spring and summer is here, you need to pull them to the front. One of the hottest 2025 fashion trends are denim on denim looks. They girlies have always made denim on denim look hit hard.
From the street style looks of New York fashion week 2025 autumn winter show, the fashion girlies came to slay in their denim on denim look. I really love this style. However, I am yet to find the right denim jacket style and wash to match with my existing wardrobe. Few days ago, I saw a cute denim vest but was it not if I really want it. Now I regret it. Go with your gut, girl!
Retro style sunglasses, 90s vibe
Diddy and Kanye west never gave up on the classic retro 90s sunglasses. They always looked great in these types of sunglasses. The dark shades which is practical and yet chic. Love it down.
The smaller frame is cool but I’d rather go for a larger frame instead. I don’t really enjoy small frame sunglasses, but I recommend it if you love 90s era.
