One of my favorite accessories to shop for is handbags. I am always on the lookout for the latest fashion trends for handbags to collect. Also, I love cute handbags that look and feel like a luxury.

For obvious reasons, I am unable to afford designer handbags. My favorite designer brands on my radar for handbags are Versace, especially the fendace collaboration, and Bottega. However, the price point is too high for me now.

Since I am unable to get real designer brands, I opted to shop for designer handbag dupes instead. Dupes are lookalike of designer brands. They give off a luxury vibe on a budget.

Another option is to shop brands like Petite Simone for handbags that straight up look like luxury. They gifted me two handbags that I love. Of course, I love them a lot and can’t wait to style them in several ways. Below is my review of the Petite Simone brand.

Hey guys! I’m excited about the new year and hope you are too. Understandably, many of us have goals for the new year, and I do too. If your plans involve traveling, here are the best airport travel tips perfect for first-timers or regular travelers.

Traveling is usually very therapeutic, and I could go on to write the many benefits of traveling. However, I want to focus on airport tips in this article.

I love to look good while traveling. So, I take time to plan my airport outfits a day before. Also, since I don’t want to struggle at the TSA, I avoid some airport wardrobe mistakes to shorten my time with them.

Also, I ensure that I follow my travel packing list so I don’t miss out on packing my essentials. I am such a forgetful person, so I double-check this list to be extra sure. You don’t want to miss your flight because you forget your documents or a vaccine card.

Top 15 Airport travel tips

Traveling by air is easily the fastest way to travel, and I’ve had loads of airport experience. I learn different tips and tricks each time I use the airport.

So, I’ve compiled a list of airport tips I know to share with you. You’d be glad you knew these airport tips on your next trip.

Also, from my wealth of experience, I have learned how to find the cheapest flight tickets for my travels. I save on miles and also earn cash back on some of my travel experiences using my WayAway membership.

Anyways, let’s jump into these airport travel tips you’d wish you knew while traveling by air.

1. Get Travel Insurance

I didn’t know that travel insurance existed until I started doing frequent international travel. Let me tell you, getting travel insurance is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It helps to cover the risks and inconveniences that may come with your trip.

The other time, I landed at my destination and couldn’t find one of my bags. It was a mistake on the part of the airline, and my travel insurance covered the cost of the lost luggage.

I’ve also had people get compensated for delayed flights courtesy of their travel insurance. You cannot vouch for any airline or know the risks that can happen on a trip. So, one of the best things to do before traveling is to get travel insurance. Click here to sign up for travel insurance on insubuy. It is one of the most important airport travel tips to take note of.

2. Arrive Early

Getting early to the airport can make or mar your travel experience. Trust me; I’ve had my fair share of bad traveling experiences, most of which are tied to the fact that I got late to the airport.

It is always best to arrive at the airport two hours before takeoff. Yes, it may seem somehow sitting and waiting for long hours. However, it is better to do that than to be in a rush or even miss your flight. Also, you can entertain yourself while waiting for your flight or during a layover.

You cannot determine how long certain processes would take at the airport or how full they would be. So, save yourself the stress and get there early.

3. Check in online if possible

One thing I always ensure to do when traveling is to check in online if possible. It applies to both international and local trips. By checking in online, I’ve reduced some of the stress I may face at the airport.

Checking in online also lets me pick my favorite seat. If I wait to check in through the counter, someone else may have taken the seat I love.

You will have a faster process of checking in at the airport if you have already checked in online. It leaves me feeling like a boss when I get to the airport. These are my favorite airport travel tips I would recommend first to anyone traveling for the first time.

4. Wear comfortable clothes

Everyone who knows me knows that I love my comfort so much. Of course, I’m one of the most fashionable people you would encounter. But that doesn’t mean that I would compromise my comfort.

And one of the top places where you would need to wear comfortable clothes is the airport. I usually don’t dress up so heavily when going to the airport. Remember that you need to remove your shoes, belt, etc. when going through security checks. So, why stress me?

Instead, you may find me wearing sweatpants, a top, socks, and slippers or crocs. These clothes make me feel comfortable, and I know I can easily slip on my slippers or crocs when I remove them. Check out other cute yet comfortable airport outfits to wear for travel.

5. Have a unique tag for your luggage

If I decide to run a poll, I would see many people who have either lost their luggage at the airport or confused their bags with those of others. It is common to see people who have similar bags at the airport.

It can be daunting picking the bags of others and then coming back to look for yours. Therefore, you need a unique tag for your luggage to make it easily identifiable. It could be a ribbon on the bag or a small teddy bag. So, it is one of the best airport travel tips I highly recommend.

Whatever you decide to put should stand out to help in identification.

6. Have a special compartment for laptops and other electronic gadgets

I usually have a laptop bag when traveling or put my laptop and other electronic gadgets in a special compartment of my carry-on bag. It makes them handy when I have to pass through security checks.

You would have to remove your laptops, phones, and other electronic gadgets at each security check at the airport. And I’d rather not scatter my bag to get them out. So instead, I keep them specially or in another bag, which helps when arranging them back. It is one airport tip that would have you less irritated at the airport. And you would be happy you did it.

7. Get a portable charger

The airport isn’t a place where you should expect to see sockets to charge your phone or other gadgets. But, even if you see sockets, many people have thoughts of using these sockets. So, they are often already in use.

Asides from that, you cannot vouch for the safety of your gadgets if you decide to charge them at the airport. Therefore, I advise everyone to have a portable charger at the airport. It is handy to charge your gadgets while you wait in the lounge or waiting area. You thank me for this as it is one of the airport travel tips you should never forget.

You will have a horrible traveling experience if your gadgets die on you. Therefore, ensure that you have a portable charger.

8. Know your bag weight before going to the airport

One of the best airport travel tips I can share is this one. It is always best to know the weight of your bags before going to the airport. It is a no-brainer that you would have to pay for excess luggage if your bag weight is more than the allocated weight per person.

Thus, I love knowing the weight of my bags ahead so I can plan for the excess luggage money. I would rather not be surprised at the airport.

Also, some airport staff can be mischievous and want to increase the luggage weight to extort money from you. It can only happen when you do not know your bag’s weight before going to the airport.

9. Carry your snacks

Every time I’m at the airport, I wonder why the restaurants, shops, and food shacks sell things for ridiculous amounts! Their prices are usually five times higher than you would get outside the airport.

So, when anyone asks me for airport travel tips, one of the first things I tell them is to carry their snacks. I usually have a bag with some of my favorite snacks, especially when I know I may be waiting for some time before taking off. I rather use my money for fun things when I get to my destination than to finish it on airport food and snacks.

10. Download offline maps

You wouldn’t realize the importance of offline maps until you are stranded in a foreign country. Trust me, the experience isn’t funny and can shatter your mood for the rest of your trip. One of the best travel tips you need to take seriously is to ensure you have an offline map. You don’t want to fall into travel scams or miss your way.

Sometimes, it could be unfortunate that the airport has no Wi-Fi or internet when you arrive. But, even if they do, it isn’t safe to connect. So, one of the best things to do is to download offline maps before arriving in that country. You can do this with travel apps like Google maps.

It lets you move around until you can get a sim or connect to the internet. Also, I find it fun downloading the maps and trying to familiarize myself with them before leaving my region.

11. Have hand sanitizer/wet wipes

I can’t talk about airport tips and forget to mention health tips. There are usually so many people at the airport, and you wouldn’t want to endanger yourself. Therefore, it is best to have a hand sanitizer handy when you’re traveling.

You can use the sanitizer when you touch surfaces to keep yourself safe. Wet wipes also come in handy for stains. It is best to remember that people are many, and spills can happen. Instead of being sad when this happens, your wet wipes can be helpful. You can also use them to clean surfaces.

12. Go to the left at checkpoints

I can see you making a face as you wonder what I mean. However, this is the best airport tip I’ve learned recently, and I couldn’t be more excited.

For some reason, people always tilt to the right lines at checkpoints at the airport. Yet, when you look, the left lines are always shorter. So why does everyone decide to stick to the right? Well, I’m not out to find the answer; I’m just usually grateful that there is a shorter line, and I go to the left.

The next time you find yourself at the airport, stick with the left lines. You’ll be done with your checkouts in no time.

13. Wait for the boarding line to shorten

As long as I have checked in, I’m usually not in a rush at the airport. So, you’re at the waiting area, and they make the first boarding announcement. You will notice that everyone rushes to queue up, and the line is long. If you join that line, you’d have to stand for some time before it gets to your turn.

I save myself the stress of standing by waiting for the line to shorten before I get more. There are usually more boarding announcements, and there is no award for being the first on the line. So, the top of my airport travel tips is to wait for the boarding line to shorten. After all, I would still get on the flight and be in my allocated seat.

14. Be nice to the flight crew

Being nice to your flight crew also helps to improve your travel experience. Once they mark you as a nice person, they are usually more than ready to help you out in any way. They would always come to check on you and may even give you extras.

Of course, it is important to be nice to anyone you meet. After all, we are all humans, and courtesy demands it. No one should tell you to be nice. It is always helpful, and I hope you are friendly to the flight crew on all your trips.

15. Have gum handy

I’m chuckling as I write this, as it is one of the best airport travel tips I have ever learned. I remember a friend getting gums for me the first time I got on a plane. My friend explained that it helps with the air pressure and that I should chew gum when taking off and landing. Indeed, it helps my ears with the air pressure.

Many people may have similar experiences as your family and friends would sing this tip to you when you travel. It’s one of the oldest airport tips, and you shouldn’t take it for granted.

Dealing with a blocked ear after flying can be annoying, but chewing gum would relieve you.

Finally, the most important airport travel tips is to pack your documents beforehand. I would recommend you pack in a place that is accessible. I prefer to have my travel documents readily available to me. Your visa or if it’s a visa-free country, your international passport, vaccine cards, or evidence of COVID test, etc.

Can I go to any African country on a budget? Of course, you can! I’ve always said it and would continue to stand on the ground that you do not have to break the bank before traveling to a desired country, especially an African one. Here are the 20 cheapest African countries to visit from Nigeria or anywhere in the world.

One of the most typical mistakes I’ve noticed with many people is that they tend to ignore their region or immediate environment. Many people express their love for traveling and wish they could travel worldwide. Why don’t you start with Africa?

African countries are one of my favorite countries to visit! These countries keep giving, and you would want to continue paying return visits.

Some people may want to argue with me when I say traveling to some African countries is cheap. So, I have come with receipts. After you read this piece, you should start planning your travel itinerary for the year and ensure that you have visited at least one African country at the end of the year! You can check out our list of the most beautiful places to visit in Africa to add to your bucket list.

20 Cheapest African countries to visit

Some of the cheapest African countries to visit are:

1. Ghana

By all standards, Ghana is one of the cheapest African countries to visit, especially as a Nigerian. It has one of the most affordable international flights from Nigeria. If you are on a tight budget, you can even travel by road to this country. It is one perk that comes with it being a neighboring country.

Accommodation in Ghana is also less expensive than one would imagine. Interestingly, depending on your desired standard, you can get hotels in this country for as low as $5.

Getting around the country is also relatively inexpensive, as a bus ticket costs less than $1. So if you’re looking for a cheap African country to visit, Ghana should be at the top of your list.

2. Benin Republic

Benin Republic is another country that shares a border with Nigeria and is one of the cheapest African countries to visit. At one point, I wondered why many Nigerians were opting to attend school in this country. However, after my research, I realized that they had some excellent university options in this country that come at an affordable rate than even some of the private universities in Nigeria.

They also have a unique and diverse culture that you can enjoy at a low cost. I especially loved visiting their markets and even haggling prices with the traders. I was shocked at the number of things I got from markets in the Benin Republic at a low amount.

3. Cote d’Ivoire

The beautiful country of the Ivory Coast is one that everyone should explore if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, I’ve come across people that feel that traveling to this country is expensive. But did you know that you can use a bus to get to this country? Well, now you know!

I loved how the locals of this country were super receptive and ready to help. They will lead you to the best accommodation options and markets if you return their friendly energy. Also, sightseeing with a local makes it more affordable as they would help with the cost since they understand the language better.

4. Morocco

One thing about Morocco is that it has a lot to offer to foreigners. So there is something about this country that keeps drawing you.

I resisted visiting this country for the longest time as I felt it would be expensive. So, I postponed my trip until I had ‘enough money.’ But getting to Morocco changed my perspective of the country as I saw that I could get things for a cheap amount. From clothes to foodstuff, to souvenirs and more. I was in awe of the prices of various items.

The art and craft in this country are cheap, and they share similarities with Nigeria. Being in this country feels like a home away from home.

8. Zambia

Guys, why is it that people do not have Zambia on their list of African tourist locations? Understandably, many people feel that this country is expensive, especially as it plays host to Victoria Falls.

Aside from visiting Victoria Falls, there is no other thing that would cut your budget while in Zambia. Getting to the falls could cost a bit. However, other tourist sites in the country are affordable.

Accommodation in the country is also inexpensive, and it is easy to get around in the city. It is possible to spend less than $50 daily in Zambia, which is considerably affordable.

Did you know that Namibia classifies as one of the safest countries to visit in Africa? It was one thing that endeared me to the country. I love the peace that comes with visiting this country. I didn’t feel like leaving after my trip to Namibia.

Asides the safety, it is one of the cheapest African countries to visit on a budget. So, if you need a safe yet cheap African country to visit, visit Namibia.

I loved the road trips I enjoyed while in the country. If you ever find yourself in Namibia, take road trips to exciting places with locals and fellow tourists. It is also less expensive than you would think.

The accommodation options in Namibia are also cheap. So, you’re spending little as a tourist in this country.

The cabs in this country are one of the most affordable you can get anywhere. Even the tour guides are relatively inexpensive to get. The meals and drinks in this country are also cheap, especially the local meals. These are things you would enjoy in the country.

12. Algeria

Algeria is another country to visit if you’re looking for a cheap African country. This small country offers a lot to tourists, and I assure you that you will enjoy your stay.

It also comes in handy that the standard of living in this place is low compared to other places. So, you can get things for low prices when you are in Algeria.

13. Togo

Togo is one of the countries that get the interest of tour companies due to its affordability. And it was one of the first places I visited. I have taken an individual trip to this country and been there as a group.

Both instances were super fun, and I am always gassed to visit Togo. As a Nigerian, Togo is one of the most affordable countries to visit in Africa, and you can go there by bus.

14. Sudan

Understandably, there are many controversies surrounding Sudan. So, people do not add it to their list of African tourist attractions. However, it is one of the cheapest African countries to travel to.

This country has more pyramids than Egypt, and I hear they also have some of the best local spices on the continent. One of the downsides for a tourist is that accommodation in this country is slightly expensive. But if you can look past it, you will have a swell time.

15. Tunisia

What is there not to love about Tunisia? From the people to the culture, the foods, the tour sites, etc. It is a dream tourist destination for anyone to visit. Definitely add Tunisia to one of the lists of the cheapest African countries to visit on a budget.

The prices of things at this place are also low, which endears the heart of foreigners. The country’s people are welcoming, and you may not want to leave when visiting Tunisia.

16. Guinea

You can decide to use a flight or road when traveling to Guinea. But, of course, I know those on a tight budget would prefer to use the road. Traveling to Guinea by road would take about three days at most.

Using the road to reach Guinea makes it more affordable, and you also experience things you may have missed if you used air transportation. Hence, Guinea qualifies to be part of the cheapest African countries to visit.

The prices of things in this country would shock you as you would see that it is cheaper than your home country. Therefore, you do not need a high budget when visiting Guinea.

17. Burundi

Burundi is another of the cheapest African countries to visit on a budget. The cost of living in the country is also lower than in most places globally. The aura in the country is warm, and the accommodation options are inexpensive.

Getting to Burundi is either by plane or by car. Both are viable options that are also not so expensive.

18. Lesotho

I didn’t know what to expect when my friends dragged me to visit Lesotho. However, I was happy that I obliged them as it was indeed an experience. Lesotho is one of the cheapest African countries to visit you need to add to your must-see places in Africa.

Lesotho is a country you need to visit with an open mind. I went there ready to enjoy myself, and it happened as expected. It beat all the expectations I had in mind.

Also, the cost of living was cheap, as I spent less than $50 daily. So, Lesotho is one of the most affordable African countries to visit.

19. Niger

Going from Niger Republic to Nigeria can take one hour if you’re using a flight. But the cheapest option would be to use a bus and spend long hours on the road. In addition, using the road allows you to see vegetation and nature at its best.

In all terms of comparison, life in Niger is overly cheap. Sometimes, you would even doubt the prices due to their cheapness. Food items are at their cheapest in the Niger Republic.

The overall cost of living in Niger republic is quite cheap. Hence, it has to be added to our list of cheapest African countries to visit and live in.

20. Botswana

One of the things I loved about Botswana was its visa cost. You can use less than $100 to get a Botswana visa.

Now, things may not be as cheap as you think in this country. But it is way more affordable than you would get in other places. Also, the country is neat and beautiful, and you would have a swell experience.

Do you know that there are many waterfalls in Nigeria? Oh, how I love to visit waterfalls! The feeling of putting my legs in the water and absorbing my environment is the perfect way for me to spend my time.

If you leave me, I could go on and on about how I love visiting waterfalls. However, that is not why I have decided to write this article.

Today, I want to focus on highlighting some of the most beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria. Some time ago, a friend of mine said that Nigeria didn’t have more than 2 waterfalls. What!? You can tell that I went into defense mode immediately as I have been to a good number of waterfalls in the country.

Sadly, I’ve seen that many people also have this perception. So, come with me, and let’s explore and see the various waterfalls in Nigeria.

15 Beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria

Nigeria is one of the most beautiful places to see in Africa. There is so much to see. From the beautiful beaches in Lagos to the lovely nature parks as well as waterfalls. There are a lot of beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria you sure will love to see. Below are the top most beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria to add to your bucket ASAP.

I know some of these waterfalls are located in states far from you guys. So, you can check this list of the top best affordable hotels in Nigeria you could stay. Some of them actually come with breakfast too. Click here to book hotels in Nigeria on a budget.

1. Agbokim Waterfall

When anyone thinks of Cross River state, the first thing that comes to mind would be Obudu Ranch or Tinapa. During my last trip to Obudu Ranch, I learned about the Agbokim Waterfall located in one of the nearby local governments.

I didn’t need anyone to tell me to add visiting this place to my itinerary. You can imagine my delight when I saw this 100-foot waterfall. Interestingly, it is also close to the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

It is one of the best hiking spots in that area, and you will always see people when you visit it. If you are looking to reach this place from Calabar, the capital city, you are looking at a four-hour drive.

2. Ezeagu Waterfall

Enugu has a reputation for being one of the most interesting cities in Nigeria, especially in the southeast region. I had heard so much about this place, and I was set to visit and explore it for myself.

Getting into the town, the locals were quick to introduce me to Okpa, one of the indigenous meals. Nowadays, I’m always looking for anyone coming from Enugu to help me with Enugu Okpa.

The residents of this place boast of the Ezeagu waterfall. It is one of the fun areas for tourists visiting the state. It also makes an excellent picnic location. I almost didn’t feel like leaving when I visited this place.

3. Arinta Waterfall

Located in Ekiti state is the Arinta waterfall. It is a delightful place for both the locals and tourists visiting the state.

One thing I loved about this waterfall is that it had 7 cascades. My friends and I were eager to make it to the highest level. Typically, most visitors would only stop on the first level.

Well, I can tell you that we had fun trying to get to other levels of the waterfall. I wouldn’t tell you the cascade I reached. But when you visit this place, take it as a challenge and come back to drop a comment on the level you reached.

4. Karu Waterfall

Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful waterfalls you can visit in Nigeria is the Karu waterfall. And you can find this place in Abuja.

When compared to the Arinta waterfall, this one is not that high. It has three layers and it isn’t hard to climb them. However, you still need to be cautious as the steps are steep. But I can assure you that you would have fun at this place.

I also enjoyed feeding my eyes on the environment as everywhere looked clean and beautiful. You can enjoy scenic views and also engage in hiking if you desire.

5. Barup Waterfall

Although not as popular as other waterfalls, the Barup waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria. Interestingly, many people also mistake the location of this waterfall. Some people would say that it is in Abuja.

I also thought so initially. However, when I got to Abuja, I began disturbing my Abuja friends about this place. They clarified to me that the waterfall is in Taraba.

I’ve personally not had the chance to explore this waterfall yet. But I’ve heard lots of positive reviews about it and the pictures are also breathtaking. I cannot say yet, but I may be visiting this waterfall in a few months.

6. Erin Ijesha Waterfall

See, just get your camera ready when you are visiting the Erin Ijesha waterfall as you will fall in love with the waterfall. Not only is it a beautiful waterfall in Nigeria, but it is also one of the most popular waterfalls in Nigeria.

It also shouldn’t be surprising that you have to pay a gate fee to access this place. The price is 1000 naira for adults and 500 naira for children. I have been to this place more times than I can count, and it is always a unique experience each time I visit it.

If you’re lucky to go there as a group, you’d enjoy the hiking experience. You can also check out other fun things to do in Osun state like a visit to Osun Oshogbo grove, Nike art gallery, Osun, etc.

7. Matsirga Waterfall

This is another beautiful waterfall in Nigeria. I have been fantasizing about it for the longest time, but have yet to visit it.

From the waterfall to the environment and the community, there is almost nothing you would not love about this place. It has four cascades and everything about it is giving. It gives the perfect backdrop for your pictures and you’ll find yourself loving all angles.

I’m sure you’re wondering how I know all of this about the waterfall. Well, I have friends that have visited this place and I hope to visit it soon and get my own experience.

If you ever find yourself in Kaduna, ensure that you visit this waterfall.

8. Ogba Ukwu Waterfall

I was impressed when I visited this waterfall in Anambra state. It showed me that Nigerians know how to convert something cultural into something historic.

There are unique stories surrounding this place, and I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun for you. However, keep in mind that it is a combination of both a cave and a waterfall. If you haven’t guessed already, you can be sure that I explored the cave while there.

The thrill that comes with being in this place is one that you would hardly find in another place. I loved my experience at this place and I recommend it to everyone

9. Osome Waterfall

Osome is another waterfall in Nigeria that many people do not know about. It is located in Kogi state.

When I visited this place, I noticed that the water started from a stream. Then, it went down through the rocks and formed a waterfall.

The atmosphere of this place is one thing I loved. It was as if I was as free as a bird in this place without any worries. I didn’t want to leave this place and look forward to more visits to this waterfall.

If you are looking for a calm place to relax in Kogi state, this is the place for you.

10. Sassa Waterfall

The location of this waterfall may be one of the reasons why many people do not know about it. It is a waterfall in Adamawa state and one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria. From the first time I saw the pictures of this place online, my tourism antennas were up and I was eager to visit it.

Going to this waterfall was my first time in Adamawa state and I absolutely loved it. From the waterfall experience to the food and the warm welcome by the locals, it felt like a home away from home.

11. Owu Waterfall

I can’t talk about waterfalls in Nigeria without mentioning Owu waterfall in Kwara state. Many people might not know, but it is the highest waterfall in west Africa. Yes, the highest waterfall in West Africa is in Nigeria!

Hiking and taking a dip in the pool before are some of the things people do at this waterfall. They make it more interesting by turning it into competitions. You might not be visiting this place with the mindset of entering into competitive games. However, it would be hard to resist these games when you are there.

My best advice is that you should visit Owu waterfall with an open mindset and you will have lots of fun. I will also recommend you visit the University of Ilori zoo. Although I wish it would be worked on due to its failing state. Also, you can check out other fun things to do in Ilorin, Kwara state.

12. Gurara Waterfall

This waterfall in Niger state is a fun spot for everyone who lives within the area. People always make out time to go and feast their eyes on this beauty. And some of them even use it as a location for parties.

I was in awe the day I visited this waterfall as I saw people using it as a picnic spot. You would easily spot various groups, and you’re welcome to join any of them.

Even if you want to hike within the area, you would find people willing to engage in this activity. It is an encompassing fun place.

13. Farin Ruwa Waterfall

Some people say that this waterfall is in Nasarawa state. Others say it is in Plateau state. It is because the waterfall sits on the border between both states. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria that everyone needs to see.

Sadly, because of its location, not a lot of people know about this waterfall. I have heard wonderful comments about it and have it on my list of places to visit soon.

If you ever find yourself close to this place, do not hesitate to visit the waterfall. I’m sure that the experience will leave a smile on your face.

14. Amanagwo Waterfall

Abia state is also not left out of states that have beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria. It is a wonder why the government doesn’t push this tourist spot as much as other places do to their waterfall. However, I love to discover and uncover these things, which is why I am writing about this waterfall.

Hopefully, you will love it as much as I do.

15. Oferekpe Waterfall

You will find this waterfall somewhere in Ebonyi state. People use it as a spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It has a great environment to relax and reflect. I absolutely loved the time I spent exploring this face. Also, I’ve never heard negative reviews about it.

15  most beautiful waterfalls in Nigeria you need to visit ASAP

Do you find it hard styling your maxi skirt? If you’re in this bucket, here are 8 maxi skirt outfits to try out right now. So, pull out your maxi skirt and start styling it. Also, I have linked some of my favorite maxi skirts to shop for below.

There was a time in my life when I avoided wearing maxi skirts. I always wondered how and why people wore maxi skirts. To me, it was hard to style and I couldn’t see how it was fashionable. However, I kept admiring maxi skirts whenever I saw them and sometimes found myself buying them.

At one point, I had a good number of maxi skirts in my wardrobe that I hadn’t worn. Then, I decided that enough was enough! I couldn’t keep spending money on getting maxi skirts when I wasn’t wearing them.

So, I figured out several maxi skirt outfits that you’d definitely love. Now I wear maxi skirts as a casual outfit, with sneakers, or as a cute airport outfit.

Maxi skirt outfits

Understandably, many people struggle with styling maxi skirts. These long skirts almost seem impossible to rock as a fashionista. But, are maxi skirts really hard to style?

I’d be sharing some ways to wear a maxi skirt. Hopefully, you use these pointers so that you do not struggle as I did back them.

To stylishly rock your maxi skirt, you should:

1. Wear a maxi skirt with heels

I know that many people would prefer to dress comfortably when going out. And, some of you would rather rock a pair of sneakers with anything you’re wearing. But when it comes to a maxi skirt, you would look better with a pair of heels.

Although walking with heels may not be so easy. However, I love to wear maxi skirts with heels. Shop the right heels and you’d love to style all your outfits with heels. Check out my ultimate guide on how to buy heels and the types of heels to buy that are perfect for you.

Now, I’m not saying that you can’t wear your flats or sneakers with a maxi skirt. But, look at it from this angle. Your maxi skirt is already long, and you need something to elevate the look and give it more flare. So, wearing heels with a maxi skirt is more suitable.

You can rock this style to church, a formal event, or any occasion in general.

2. Maxi skirt with fitted tops

What type of tops would you wear with your maxi skirt? I sometimes see people wearing loose-fitted tops with their maxi skirts and it leaves them looking shabby. Some of these people say that loose tops are more comfortable.

The goal should be to look sharp and elegant when you dress up. And you can’t achieve this when you wear a loose top with a maxi skirt.

To achieve the look you desire, you need to wear a fitted top with your maxi skirt. Asides from looking sharp, it leaves you with renewed confidence and you’ll be feeling on top of the world with your look.

You can wear your maxi skirts with bodysuits, t-shirts, fitted blouses, etc. To make your t-shirt fitted, you can either tuck it or tie it in a knot. Also, check out other style hacks every woman needs to know for styling her outfits.

3. Maxi skirt with off-shoulder tops

A great option for maxi skirt outfits is to wear it with an off-shoulder top. Although I am not really a fan of the off-shoulder top, I still love it paired with a maxi skirt.

This is one of the simple yet stylish maxi skirt outfits you need to try. For proportion and fit, tuck in the top and add a shoulder bag to the look.

You can style it with a pair of sneakers, espadrilles, or heels. This look is a perfect date night outfit or a stylish travel cloth for women.

4. Go Monochrome

When wearing a maxi skirt, you need to be conscious about the top you use in wearing it. Some of the tops you rock might make your look to be a miss. Therefore, it is always best to play it safe and stick to tops that would complement your looks.

Now, I cannot police the type of maxi skirt you may be getting. It could be pleated, flora, etc. However, one of the best ways to rock such a skirt would be by going monochrome with the top. Yes, you cannot miss a black or white top. These are non-picky colors that help you achieve an elegant look.

5. Maxi skirt with a crop top

What do you think about showing some skin when you wear a maxi skirt?

C’mon, live a little! You would look absolutely gorgeous when you wear a crop top with your maxi skirt. If you’re in doubt, look at it from this angle…

You would often find it fashionable to wear a crop top with high-waist jeans. So, why can’t you wear it with a maxi skirt? These skirts can also classify as high-waisted and you can rock them with a crop top. Also, you can wear your maxi skirt with crop tops and cropped blazer for a relaxed yet casual fit.

It is the best outfit for the summer or times when you need what to wear to the beach

6. Rock it with boots

I know you might be keeping a face when you see this option, especially as it isn’t the easiest to pull off. But if you can pull it off, you’ll make heads turn when you rock it. One of my favorite ways to style maxi skirt outfits is with boots. I am so in love with this edgy look.

Boots are one of the best shoe styles to wear all year round. You need a pair of boots to style your maxi dresses, mini dresses, or skirts as well as maxis. So, you can see that it is a wardrobe essential for women to buy.

Wearing boots with your maxi skirt gives you that bold and daring look. I always wondered why one can rock boots with any outfit but becomes skeptical when it comes to wearing them with maxi skirts. So, I gave it a try one day and I haven’t looked back since then.

However, I tend to stick to heeled boots when going for this look so they can complement my dress.

7. Add a tummy belt

There was an era when I added a tummy belt to almost any outfit and my maxi skirts were not an exception. My friends used to make jokes about my obsession with tummy belts back then but they couldn’t deny that it added flair to my dressing.

Although I do not wear tummy belts as much any longer, I still use them from time to time. It is my secret ingredient for spicing my dressing. I could be opting for a simple look, but my tummy belt would take it from 0 to 100.

It is one of the best things to use when wearing a maxi skirt.

8. Accessorize your fit

You always need to make your outfit pop when it comes to fashion. So, you should not water down your accessories. Instead, you should use them to show off and show out.

You should wear jewelry when rocking a maxi skirt. Your statement necklace and earrings would come in handy in this case. You should also not forget your bracelets and anklets. All these would help to elevate your dressing.

If you travel frequently, you will agree with me that it can be so boring flying for long hours. What are some fun things to do on a long haul flight? I love flights that are very short, within 4 hours or less. However, if I have no choice but to fly for longer hours, I try to make good use of the wait time. Here are some fun things to do on long haul flights to entertain yourself.

I get bored quickly even on short flights. On my recent travel, I had to engage my seatmate in a fun discussion to avoid losing my mind. After packing for my trip and finding the cheapest flight tickets for my vacation. The next step is to prepare for things to do while on air. This is mainly for long haul flights.

So, you will find these fun things to do on a long haul flight useful to entertain you while on the air no matter how long.

Things to do on a long haul flight

Below are the 10 best things to do on a long haul flight that will keep you busy while traveling. These fun things are interesting to engage in. You will have fun all the way to your final destination as time passes.

1. Listen to Audiobooks

A very way to read books is by listening to audiobooks. Many of us have books on our list to read someday but can’t find time to read them. Opt to read them via audiobooks.

One of the fun things to do on a long haul flight is to read those books on your list as audiobooks. You can go through as many chapters by just listening to these books.

I have so many books on my list to read. One of them is, “sell like crazy”, only the title makes me want to read it. Other books I would recommend you read include, “Think like a champion” by Donald Trump, “Tough times never last but tough people do”, Robert Schuller, etc.

These books changed my life. Especially if you struggling with decision-making and anxiety like I do.

2. Play a game

Another of the things to do on a long haul flight is to play a game. Games are super fun and relaxing for long flights.

I love to play games while traveling. This is because are engaging. It helps me develop my resilience to win and of course, relaxes me.

One of my favorite online games that I love to play is Supermarket numbers. It is perfect to play with your kids to help them with basic arithmetic.

Also, I love this game because it is so relatable. Who doesn’t run errands in the supermarket? So, I am able to have fun while engaging in a reliable game.

3. Chat with someone

If you’re an extrovert, this is something you’d love to do on a long haul flight. You get to meet someone new. Get to know someone new. Talk about anything and keeps yourselves entertained on your trip.

I also enjoy making new friends while traveling. You never know, you may meet your future travel buddy on a trip.

I am not a conversation starter because I am an introvert. However, if I like you, I can engage you in a conversation for hours. So, if you’re looking for a fun thing to do on a long flight, start up a conversation with someone close to you.

4. Netflix and Chill

Another fun thing to do on a really long flight is to binge-watch shows or movies on Netflix. Netflix is one of my favorite places to watch movies while on a long trip.

You can watch at least two movies while on a long haul flight. Select your favorite movies or shows to watch while traveling. You’d definitely have fun killing the time while you Netflix and chill.

5. Learn a new skill

You can never go wrong with learning a new skill when you get the opportunity. I recently enrolled in a new course but haven’t had time to read it. You bet that I will be reading it on my trip this holiday.

Time flies so fast these days. Between balancing my home, blogging, and my regular job, time is never enough. So, you can enroll for a new course on Coursera or udemy to learn a new skill. Preferably skills that will boost your career in the coming year.

You can also learn a new skill on skillshares like video editing, graphic design, or gardening. You don’t have to learn skills only for work, it can be just to develop a hobby.

Also, you can learn some life skills like how to invest in stocks too. I recently invested in stocks but I have little knowledge about them. So, I stumbled on this engaging game that I play just to learn about basic knowledge of stock trading.

Although this game is solely for entertainment, it gives you the basics of what you need to know before jumping into stocks. So, I would recommend you play this game just for fun while learning new things.

6. Read a book

Another of the fun things to do on a long haul flight is to read a book. I know I have previously touched on it in audiobooks. This is perfect for those of us that prefer the traditional way of reading books hardcopy.

I find it super easy to follow hardcover books, unlike e-books. While making your travel packing list, add some hardcover books to read to your list.

I have read about 4 chapters while on a long flight. So, if you have no idea what to do on a very long flight, read a book.

7. Learn the local language

One of the fun things to do on a long haul flight is to learn the local language of your destination. This will come in handy to enable you to settle in easily.

Learn a few words or phrases of the local language of your place of visit. It is super fun to learn a new language. You can also use travel apps like google translate to help you learn the native language too.

8. Listen to Music

Music can be so entertaining while traveling. Another fun thing to do on a long flight is to listen to music. You can listen to music on apple music or Google plays music.

I love to follow the latest hits songs while traveling. Life can be quite busy to follow these things. So, I use the time I travel to catch up on these songs.

9. Catch up with work

Sometimes I feel like the 24 hours in a day is too small to finish my task. There is so much to do to grow my brand. So, I sometimes catch up on these pending tasks while traveling.

Catch up on your work while traveling on a long flight. Put some finishing touch to your presentation if it is a business trip. Also, knock off those pending tasks to reduce workload while you travel.

You can use the long travel time to do as many tasks of your work as possible.

10. Plan your itinerary

Are you a last-minute trip planner? Do you just hop on the next flight before deciding on your itinerary? Another thing to do on a long haul flight is to plan your itinerary.

Use the time while on your trip to plan how many days you’re staying, and things to do. This is especially if it’s a quick vacation. Plan your day-to-day activity for your vacation to pass the time.

So, if you need things to do when on a long flight, take time out to plan your itinerary for your trip.

Did you know that there are lots of amazing places to visit in the Republic of Benin? The Benin Republic is one little but interesting country to visit. However, there are so many best places to visit in the republic of Benin irrespective of its size.

Some time ago, I really never paid attention to this country. However, my perception of the country changed after visiting it. My favorite place to visit is Cotonou, especially its free-to-access Fidjrosse beach.

It is easy to judge a country from the outside when you have never visited it. However, when you go there, you’d see that it meets your expectations and more.

Let’s jump right in to talk about the best places to visit in the republic of Benin.

1. Dantokpa market

Dantokpa market is one the best places to visit in the republic of Benin. Although it is a market it is a must-see. You are sure to hear about this market whenever you visit the Republic of Benin. Although this market is in Cotonou, its reputation spreads to all parts of the country. It wouldn’t be wrong to describe this place as a market of markets.

Everyone kept talking highly about this market during my first trip to the Benin Republic. So, I decided to check it out to understand the hype. I was truly impressed with all it had to offer and I began making many trips to the Dantokpa market.

Interestingly, it is also the biggest open-air market in West Africa.

2. Porte Du Non Retour

Have you ever heard of the door of no return? I can see your face twisting as you’re thinking of why that phrase is familiar. Well, the door of no return is in the Republic of Benin.

As someone with an inquisitive mind and curious spirit, you can be sure that I had to check out this place when I heard about it. The door of no return is a memorial arc as a remembrance of the slave trade era. It shows that once you go through that area, there are no hopes of turning back again.

It wasn’t surprising to see this arc on the beach. After all, the waterways aided the slave trade era.

3. Pendjari National Park

I love the fact that the Benin Republic has its national park. I often see people who mistake a national park for a zoo. However, I always correct them that a national park has more to offer than a zoo.

This national park is one of the best places to visit in the Benin Republic. It is home to lots of wildlife animals. In addition, you also get to see lots of flowers and vegetation. It is a place that allows you to connect with nature.

It is best not to visit this place in a hurry. It has a lot to offer and can take up your entire day.

4. Fidjrosse beach

There is a certain form of excitement I get when I’m at the beach, and this place was no exception. I was giddy and eager to visit this beach. Thankfully, it met and even surpassed my expectations. Fidjrosse is one of the best places to visit in the republic of Benin. I had to see this place on my visit to Fidjrosse, Benin.

You can tell that the facility managers of this beach are intentional about keeping it clean. The waters are clear and the air there is just different. Truthfully, I did not feel like leaving this beach when I visited it.

Instead, you’d find me indulging in one game or the other, or trying out the various local meals. I had a swell time and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Benin Republic to check out.

5. Babs Dock

This list of best places to visit in the republic of Benin is incomplete without Bab’s dock. Bab’s dock is a private island that you’d definitely love. One of my best highlights from visiting this island was the fact that we had to pass through a tree tunnel before arriving at the dock. I had never done such a thing before and it was a worthy experience.

There is almost no water game or activity that you cannot do on this island, including kayaking. Visiting this island allows you to bond with the locals also. The interactions are usually smoother and more friendly. You will also get to see monkeys while on this island.

6. Cotonou

If I asked you the capital of the Benin Republic, I’m sure you’d say Cotonou. However, Porto- Novo is the capital city of this country.

Cotonou is one of the best places to visit in the Benin Republic in terms of cities. Its receptiveness and welcome to foreigners are one of the reasons why it has a high reputation.

Most of the fun things to do in the country are also in this city. So it isn’t surprising that most foreigners end up in Cotonou or would want to visit the city before leaving the country.

In addition, Cotonou is the port city of the Benin Republic.

7. Foundation Zinshou

Are you a lover of museums? I couldn’t help but add foundation zinshou to the list of top best places to visit in the republic of Benin. Personally, I love going to museums, both in my home country and also in foreign regions.

In fact, visiting the museum is one of the first things I do once I get to a new area. After all, how would I learn more about the place if I don’t go to the museum?

At this museum, you get to see paintings that tell stories of the country through different timelines. These stories are usually captivating and give you more insights into things like culture and customs.

You’d also get to see and appreciate random art and craft at this museum.

8. Centre  Artisanal

How does getting a discount sound to you? Of course, I know that it would be like music to your ears. After all, everyone is looking to buy things at the best rates and prices. During one of my hunts on finding such a place in the Republic of Benin, I stumbled on this market.

Here, you get to see many handmade items. Therefore, letting you communicate directly with the makers. In addition, they also sell items at this market for fair prices, and they are not fixed. So, you can still haggle and negotiate if you’re not comfortable with the prices.

This is where I get most of my souvenirs whenever I’m in the Republic of Benin.

9. The Royal Palaces of Abomey

I do not know what city you’ll be staying in while in the Republic of Benin. But if you ever find yourself in Abomey, do not think that the city isn’t exciting.

Abomey is far from being a boring city. Have you seen its royal palaces? These are some of the best places to visit in the Republic of Benin! Even if you’ll not be staying in Abomey, you can always plan to visit the city.

I have a lot to say about the royal palaces of Abomey. However, I’d want you to experience it for yourself. I love that people are allowed to explore royalty.

10. Python Temple

I’m sure you must have heard of Ouidah boards before, and you understand that it is a spiritual practice. Interestingly, Ouidah is also a town in the Benin Republic. The python temple in Ouidah is one of the best places to visit in the republic of Benin to add to your travel itinerary.

At the python temple, you get to know more about their spiritual practices. Yes, it might be scary initially. However, it is also intriguing. It is normal if you have lots of questions; the people there would be eager to answer all your questions.

It is one of the top tourist attractions in the country and I encourage you to check it out. It is better to experience it than to hear the story from people.

11. Lake Nokoue

There are some interests that stay hidden within you until you begin to explore different countries. It wasn’t until I started actively traveling to other countries that I realized that I loved fishing. Prior to that, I had never considered fishing as a hobby.

If you do not mind fishing, I would say that this lake is one of the best places to visit in the Republic of Benin. Its environment is peaceful, quiet, and calm. Thereby, giving you a space where you can gather your thoughts.

In addition, you can do additional activities like fishing, boating, and swimming.

12. W National Park

I would give accolades to the Republic of Benin as it has more than one national park. It shows that the country understands the concept of preserving animals and more.

Now, you might be wondering about the difference between this national park and others. This one is special as it has rarer species of animals. When you visit this place, you’d see animals that you never thought existed.

As a first-timer at this national park, there’d always be something new for you to learn. Without a doubt, it is one of the best places for anyone to visit in the Benin Republic.

13. Ganvie

I’ve talked about some of the exciting cities and towns in the Benin Republic. But the villages also have hidden gems. Ganvie is a village in the country. The locals best know it as a lake village.

It is said that this place has the largest lake in Africa. Wouldn’t you want to explore it? As a foreigner, you shouldn’t hesitate to explore all that a country has to offer. So, ensure that you check out this village before leaving the Benin Republic.

14. Natitingou

Did you know that there is a waterfall in the Republic of Benin? You wouldn’t know unless you explore this country.

Natitingou is one of the towns to visit if you’d enjoy seeing a waterfall. It also has a museum and other things that’d give you an incredible highlight when you visit it.

15.  Obama Beach

If there’s a beach named after a former president, you can be sure that I’d check it out. There are many things I love about this beach, but I will say some of them.

I love that it is a family-friendly space. So, you can bring your children to the beach and have no worries. I also love that there are many restaurants on the beach. So, there are options and you can pick from a variety.
