I always thought buying designer pieces is way above my tax bracket. Not until I shopped my designer bag from therealreal. So I can boldly say that these under 500 dollars designer handbags that are beginner friendly.

Although most people will say you should start your designer shopping with scarves. But I would say shop bags instead. This is because of the value designer bags retain especially if you can afford high end brands like Hermes, Bottega Veneta, Versace and the likes.

On the other hand, Designer ready to wear for me is iffy. Your can choose to pay $1000 for sweat pants or dress but not me. Many of these ready to wear pieces hardly hold their value when compared to handbags, so bag it is.

One of the cheapest ways to get designer handbags is from the preloved market. I wrote an extensive post on best places to buy second hand designer bags in pristine condition.

Also, if you choose to shop from random websites that you presume host designer pieces. Then you need to read my post on counterfeits vs dupes. Here I shared some of my tips to authenticate designer bags.

Under $500 designer bags to start your luxury journey

Below are my recommendations of designer handbags that are beginner friendly and yes under $500.

Marc Jacobs

Although I’m not so much of a bag freak, this is one bag I do not mind carrying around because of its compact nature. It is commonly known as the snapshot small camera bag and comes in bold colors. What always stands out about this bag is the Marc Jacobs signature double-J logo.

My favorite aspect/feature about this bag would be its removable strap. Typically, I can throw this bag on my body and head out. However, if I want to attend some classy functions, I can take out the strap and still use the bad. This versatility feature of the bag leaves it outstanding and perfect for everyday wear.

Kate Spade

Compared to the Marc Jacob bag, I wouldn’t call this bag compact. However, it often comes as a medium satchel, making it easy to carry around. What I love about this bag is that it comes as a sophisticated and structured satchel. This makes it perfect for almost any occasion, and it would be hard to tell that the bag is under $500.

I also love that the bag comes with a spacious interior and elegant design. As women, we are prone to always overpack. When this happens, there is not need to worry as your Kate Spade would always have room for your things. This bag is ideal for both work and casual outings.

Palm Angels

I tend to love bags that leave a lasting first impression, and that is exactly what a Palm Angels bag does. Have you seen the design of this bag? The first time I saw this bag, I wore a big smile instantly as it comes with a bear design, which isn’t common for designer bags. I love that although it is a designer bag, it still also some form of relatability.

This bag serves as a statement piece for those who love streetwear aesthetics. It is a great addition to any wardrobe or handbag collection as it tends to show off your individual style.

Coach

Have you heard about the Coach Willow Tote? Although I do not always like to admit, this bag is one of my favorite designer bags because of its simplicity. I tend to love bags that comes with a classic design, and the design of this tote hits the mark. When you look at this bag, you will agree that it has a timeless look. Due to its design, it is perfect for women of any age range.

It is also a spacious bag and features multiple compartments. Therefore, you can use this bag for almost any occasion, including work, and a day on the beach. This tote is a practical and stylish addition to any wardrobe.

Michael Kors

The Michael Kors Jet Set Saffiano Leather Tote is another bag that falls under the classification of best designer bags below $500. You might say that I love tote bags. But, is there anything wrong with them? These bags tend to be classy and bring a certain flair whenever you use them.

One of the best features of the Saffiano tote bag is its leather. This makes it durable and give you the assurance that you can use it daily without anything happening to this bag. There is often the misconception that designer bags should not be used everyday as they are fragile can get damaged.

However, this bag tends to differ as its leather feature makes it long-lasting, giving you value for your money. This tote is perfect for those who need a spacious and fashionable bag.

Longchamp

Have you ever used a foldable bag before? One thing about me is that I am quite picky when it comes to bags. So, most of my bags would often have a unique feature about them. The first time I saw my friend with a Longchamp le pliage bag, I knew I had to cope one!

Typically, this bag is lightweight, making it easy to carry around. In addition, it also comes in a foldable design, making it perfect for travel and everyday use. Sometimes when the weather gets hot, this bag serves as fan for me.The Longchamp le pliage bag offers both style and convenience to its owner.

Tory Burch

If you are looking to get a Tory Burch bag for under $500, you should go for the Ella Tote bag. I wouldn’t say that this bag is overly fancy. However, it still comes with the iconic Tory Burch logo. This way, no one would doubt if it is actually a designer bag.

I love that this bag is spacious, making is easy for anyone to carry all essentials at once. With this bag, you wouldn’t have need to carry any other extra bag. It is one of those bags that mothers can use, and young women would also fancy.

Staud

Some people are often in shock when I tell them that they can get a trendy designer bag for under $500. This is because they have not come across the Staud Mini Shirley bag before!

Although the bag is not so big or spacious, it comes in a trendy and clear design, and you would often get it in different colors. This bag adds a contemporary twist to any outfit you wear. I would like to add that I am yet to see an outfit that this bag doesn’t match with perfectly. It is a fashionable choice for those who love to stand out!

Cult Gaia

I would say it was love at first sight when I first saw the Cult Gaia Mini Ark Bag. As someone who isn’t so crazy about bags, this bag found a way to leave an impression in my heart! It is a distinctive bamboo bag that comes in a semi-circular shape. Now, I wouldn’t say that this is the bag to use if you have a lot to carry out. But if you are looking to make a fashion statement, this is the bag for you.

It is known for its artistic and architectural style! If you appreciate unique and eye-catching designs, you should get this bag immediately.

Brandon Blackwood

Some bags come with a deeper meaning and purpose, which is the case of the Brandon Blackwood ESR Tote. It is a chic and minimalist tote that supports social justice initiative. So, when you buy this bag, you are using a bag that comes with a meaningful message. With this tote, you are making a statement with style and purpose!
