My favorite thing about Parisian style is the simplicity in their looks. It is effortlessly chic. And you know accessories can make or break a lot if not done well. But French women have mastered the art of accessorizing, so we choose to take notes from them. Who better to learn from than from the OGs Parisian women.

The French never skip out their classic leather handbags. It is a chic, timeless fashion accessory every lady need in their closet. The longevity of this piece is what makes it a must have accessory for women.

Silk scarves were never a thing for me until 5 years ago. Heck, I love silk scarves a lot. I typically see scarves as something to wear on my head for religious purpose. Or something you wear for bad hair days. I used to see silk scarves as that mundane accessory, but Parisian women has convinced me otherwise.
They love to add silk scarves as that perfect finish on their neck or incorporated into their button shirts. Girl, you must be living under a rock if you don’t use silk scarves to elevate your style. For my hot girl summer walks, I used silk scarves to complete my look. Interestingly all the chic ladies never travel without this fun accessory.
Tights
Many see tights as that must have accessories to keep warm in the fall/Winter season. But girl, stop limiting your style per season. A pair of tights will make your look tres chic in minutes.
If you are new to wearing tights, I will say stick to neutral tone colors like flesh tone options or black. However, if you love to show up and show out, girl, you need some fun colors like red, blue, or even pink.
Whenever, I am feeling my outfit is basic, I go for colorful tights like red or wine as that needed pop of color. So, yes, every French girl, loves their tights, you too should.

I have spoken about how I totally hated pearl necklaces. Queen Elizabeth is always adorned with pearl necklaces. So, for it is for the uber rich or simply old ladies. Not until I started researching about old money aesthetics.
This aesthetic was gradually introduced into my closet, and I love it. A simple beaded necklace is that right amount of Schick you need in your closet. Girl, you don’t have to shy away from pearl jewelry as they are fun too.

For years I have looking for the right hoop earrings. A hoop earring is the perfect je ne se quoi you need for your look. In my head, hoops have to be thin and big. But girl, hoops can be dainty or sizable or even chunky. With the latest jewelry trends, you will find hoops everywhere.
Recently I bought half-hoop earrings, and I love it. However, for larger hoops, it makes think of concert like the Coachella or Cowboy carter which is ongoing. Girl, you need to get some pairs of hoop earrings into your closet.
A pair of Sunglasses.
Many ladies never step out with a pair of sunglasses. I used to wonder why they would do that. Now that I am paying attention to french girl style, I now see the need.
From the fun cat eye sunglasses to rounded frames or even oversized sunglasses, the options are many. And if you want to stay on trend, take a cue from the hottest sunglasses trends of 2025.
Leather belts
I cannot imagine leaving out a good belt in my looks. And for Parisian ladies, a leather belt is one of the best must have accessories to have. A chic leather belt with thin buckle is always classic and on trend.
A thin leather belt is a must have. Perfect for dresses, a pair of trousers or blazers to cinch in your waist. I recently got 3 sets of Faux leather belt from temu which I wear in rotation.
But I have my eyes on the market for a leather belt or two preferably designer brands. I missed out on a cute leather belt from Hermes which I found at a thrift store. Maybe because she sold me a fake Dior saddle bag that I spend a lot on.

A chic basket bag
A chic summer handbag to have is a basket bag. Basket bag is a must have French girl accessory to have. I love raffia bags. But I have not really paid attention to woven basket bags. Maybe because it is not as versatile as a leather bag.
Yet for days you want to dress down, stroll to the farmers market or simple take in the sun at the pool, this is a great bag to have. Top on my luxury wish is the Loewe basket bag. I love this bag a lot.
However, I don’t think I will pay full price for it. For one it loses it shape quickly if you don’t stuff it. So, yeah, may options will be available on the luxury thrift market.

Beret
What is a blog post about Parisian style without a beret? Although, many feel we stereotype Parisians with Beret. Trust me, many cannot make this accessory work for their look. But the French! they love their beret.
You can go for neutral tone options that will go with anything in your closet. However, I would recommend you get it in a fun color like red, pink or yellow. I am elated to have one in my closet.
