I have always bwanted to explore a safari once in my life time. And In was looking at other places in Africa like Namibia, Kenya or South Africa. But the prices of the safari tours less your visa and flight tickets is expensive AF.
So, I just kept it aside as a luxury get away someday. To my surprise, this games reserve is a safari. You get guide tours to see the animals in their natural habitat. What is a safari if not that? Sadly, this state is a high-risk state prone to kidnapping and religious unrest. Is it worth taking the risk to see it?
I would say you should check Nigeria travel advisory if it’s worth it. Ensure it is safe to travel and stay alert. But what is a vacation when I have to be on fight or flight mode.
If things get better in Bauchi state in terms of security, I will pack my bags and enjoy a stay at this game reserve in Nigeria.
Obudu Mountain resort Cross river
My first visiting Obudu mountain resort was kind of interesting. I travelled the Israelite route which made this trip so stressful for me. To later find out that there is a shorted route, what a bummer.
Did I mention that most of the facilities has been dilapidated. No renovations. Even some of the lodges were beginning to fall apart. Well now it has gotten a face lift. Everything is now in great condition. So, I highly recommend you visit now that is back up and running. I too am planning to pack my bags and visit soonest.
Olumo Rock Abeokuta
If you love the Zuma rock in Abuja, Olumo rock is quite similar. Just that you get to climb and see the whole city of Abeokuta at a glance up on the rock. I have been to Olumo rock three times in a row.
So, you it is worth your time. The experience is fun. After the hike of Olumo rock, stop at the steps for some palm wine and peppered ponmo. I love the ponmo because it is spicy. Just spicy enough for me. I can’t say much about the palm wine because I don’t drink.

Enjoy budget friendly Lagos Night life at Freedom Park Lagos
Freedom Park Lagos of the cheapest places to visit in Lagos to enjoy Night life on a budget. I have been to freedom park but never really enjoyed the Night. But I know people who did and they swear by it that the night life is lit.
If you love to eat out at a budget friendly price and still enjoy good music, definitely visit Freedom Park Lagos for Detty December. I would say that if you don’t want to spend so much for the holidays, then add this a touch point for your holiday hang out.

I am not really into history like that. It is just not my forte. But this place is quite interesting to me. The rich Yoruba culture and heritage plus the art is everything.

I particularly like the car park outside which a Nigerian drove all the way from overseas to the country. Like this place celebrate Nigerians and their achievement and it aims to preserve the culture our country. Particularly the Yoruba culture.
Tarkwa bay beach
What is a vacation without a beach vacation? I always love to explore the beach for the holidays. And a budget friendly Lagos beach to explore is Tarkwa bay beach.
Tarkwa bay beach is a fun cheap beach you need to visit in Lagos if you haven’t already. And if you have visited, you know it is worth exploring over again. The boat ride to the beach, the beach huts, the local foods and the down-to-earth vibe you get with the locals. It is totally worth. I would like to stay in one of the beach houses or simply have a camp night at this beach.
Erin Ijesha Waterfall, Osun state
Erin Ijesha waterfall is one of my favorite waterfalls in Nigeria. I would have loved to visit to Agbokim waterfalls in Ikom, Cross river state. But I was so focused on my long israelite journey to Obudu from Calabar. Now I know not to travel like that.
Any who, Erin Ijesha is quite budget friendly and easy to access. I remember being fed porcupine meat at this waterfall. Also, I would say kudos to the government of Osun state for maintaining this place.
It is a fun place to be in. You get to enjoy a fun hike up to the waterfall and a great bath in the water. So, I would say go with your bathing suit. Like what is a visit to a waterfall without a bath in the fresh natural water.
