I remember walking around this community and being amazed at how cheerful everyone seemed.

I like to describe this community as a unique place as I doubt there is any other place you would visit in the world that gives you the same vibe as the Makoko community. Beyond the hospitality and food, Makoko offers an extraordinary tourist experience.

Its famous stilt houses and waterways are fascinating to explore. On one of my outings, I took a canoe through the canals, and it allowed me to see how daily life unfolds on the water. It was quite fascinating to see such a peaceful yet bustling environment that contrasts with the fast-paced nature of other cities in Lagos.
