If you have been on social media, you know that the hot new fast fashion brand to shop is Temu. Temu is literally everywhere and they pride themselves on being very affordable for everyone. How cheap is Temu really? Is it just an advert to get you to spend your coin on them. We will find out of shortly.
I cannot watch a youtube ad without shop like a billionaire in my face. This made me curious about this brand that I spent days on their website adding things to my cart and removing them.
One of the downside of adding items to cart on temu and leaving it is the price jump or increase. If you find an item cheap and want to check out in a few days, the price will go up. That to me is a not good. In most cases, brands offer discounts to lure you in to make an actual purchase but for this brand, you get a price jump. Really?
Now lets get into pieces I picked out from both Temu and Aliexpress. These items are purely for comparison purpose. Let’s get into it.

How cheap is Temu? Temu vs Aliexpress
Why compare this fast fashion brand with Aliexpress? Well both of them are china owned and sell simlar pieces. They have the same structure basically. Several sellers offering various products at competitive prices. Also, Temu and Aliexpress are like two peas in a pod. Their websites are similar and easy to navigate.
Also, I have shopped both brands. Hence, I can say for a fact that both offer great quality for the prices being offered. If you need fashion, travel or gadgets, these two brands are your best bet.

Cardigan
One of my must have fashion pieces is a cardigan. Cardigan is a must have for cold summer nights, for fall and for the tropics. I love cardigan for both casual and work outfits.
Below are two styles of cardigans that I love. That from Temu is in one of the hottest 2025 summer color which is baby blue. The detail of the button is what caught my eyes. While that from Aliexpress is pink and sleeveless yet it is giving old money aesthetic. The cardigan on Temu is 16.05USD while that on Aliexpress is 22.79USD.
Type C OTG Memory card reader
The first I really wanted to buy from Temu is an Otg which I always wanted for the longest. In Nigeria, it goes for about 12,000naira, like what. The one i got for 3k plus was not functional.
Imagine my surprise when I got an OTG memory card reader for about 3k and it works just fine. That’s about 1.99USD on Temu. Searching for the same OTG on Aliexpress is slightly higher in price. I will do you when it comes to OTG.
I was okay to do Temu due to the return policy. It is easy to return from Nigeria unlike AliExpress. So, I took a risk on Temu and it was worth it.
Wedge shoes for women
Wedge is a summer staple that I struggled to get the right type into my closet. Wedges are easy to style for work or simply for going out. I just wished my wedge sandal has more lift like this one I found also on Temu.
Temu offers several wedge options. However, I must confess that those on AliExpress are Chic and fun. I want to buy them all save for the price. I wish they will be a little bit cheaper than Temu. Yet for these two styles I found, AliExpress variation is cheaper. So, you can say it can cheap or pricey depending on the item or style when it comes to fashion.

Designer handbag dupes
I love designer handbags, but the prices are way above my tax bracket for now. Anywho, one of the best ways for me to live my designer gurly dream is to shop for designer lookalikes or designer dupes.

I must say I was underwhelemed by the options Temu offer. Plus, it is mostly contemporary designer dupes thar are listed.
However, I was shocked that Temu carries some designer bags too like Coach and Michael Kors. And I am wowed. This I have also noticed with Amazon too. Kudos to Temu.
