The last time I was at Africa fashion week was about 3-4 years ago. What I am trying to say is that it has been a while. So, I was elated to be a part of it this year even when I would rather be on my bed sipping tea as preggy. Anyway, where were you at? Here is all you missed at Africa fashion week Nigeria 2025.
This I year I wanted to be as prepared as possible for this day. The whole works, from outfits to accessories to my nails were top notch if I do say so myself. However, I was sorely disappointed by the artisan who was to elevate my Ankara dress I got from IDJAnkara. Any who, I finally got to the venue late at night even though I almost gave up on going. Shameless plug, I have a discount code: Trendsenstylez which will save you some ### off your order.
Was it worth it? Sure, it was. I had a great time at Africa fashion week Nigeria 2025. I also liked that fact that it was located at John randle Onikan which is quite accessible to everyone. Not far into the island like most fashion shows. Maybe they considered us that stay on the mainland. Any who, I had a blast.

Africa fashion week Nigeria 2025
Unlike most fashion week which are Paid. Africa fashion week Nigeria is free to access year in year. Now that I think about it, Africa fashion week Nigeria was my first fashion week experience. It took place at National theatre Costain. And since then, my love for Africa fashion boomed. I loved the creativity that flowed through the runway.
I also learnt Swarovski crystals can make your Africa fashion print 100% chic. Any who let’s come to the present. Here are my favorite designers from Africa fashion day 1 that stole my heart. I particularly love “Black” designer as he didn’t look basic when he stepped out to say hi to his audience.
He gave us a show with his designs. Also, looked like his designs. More about black below. All I can say is Muah to him.
Africa fashion week Nigeria 2025: Favorite designers to know.
As with every fashion show from GT fashion weekend to Lagos fashion week 2025, I look out for my favorite designers. Here are the designers that gave me a show at the just concluded Africa fashion week Nigeria 2025.
Pear and pattern luxury
The first piece that walked the runway from this brand speaks luxury. I will admit that I want the pair of trousers the model wore. Fringe and fur are in for 2025. And I love the designer’s interpretation of this 2026 fashion trend.
I also love how her models walked the runway with shopping bags boldly stating the name of the brand. Girl, it was show. I will be lost in her showroom with her cute designs that says you will look like money once you step out.
Sisi sewing
Sisi sewing is another fun Africa designer you need to know. If you love Afrocentric designs. This brand is up your alley. For me, I am always in between Pure Afrocentric styles and A mix of contemporary brands. That is why I love this brand. The brand is chef kiss.
Chinelle World
I had so many hiccups on my way to Africa fashion week. I really do want to be there on time. Everything went to shit few hours before my departure time.
The outfit I planned for the show didn’t get to me late. Plus the extra designs I wanted to add with swarovski crystals didn’t pan out as I would want. I just had to be at Africa fashion week Nigeria 2025. I have been on their instagram page following the updates so I wouldn’t miss it for anything.
Finally we arrived at Africa fashion week at 8.00pm. So, the first show I met coming in late was chinelle world. And I must say she made my late tentry worth it. Her bridal collections were epic. The embellishment, the crystals , the vavavoom and of course all thing bridal caught my attention. I would to get married in any of her gowns but too late I already married,
May be for my milestone anniversary, I would love to be dressed by her. Fingers crossed.
Shebling
Okay I as I was getting a little bit bored with the show. This happens typically when you’re at fashion week. This brand shifts the dials and raised the bar to 100.
Her designs are for the Gen Z baddies. The low waist pants and skirts that is reminiscent of the 90’s fashion. If you’re a fan of the then destiny child, o you will relate with this brand. However, as a millennial, I love how she worked with denim to give style and fashion.
And of course, the designer’s vibe and her pieces are a perfect blend. She looked really stunning in her outfit and even gave a show with her dance moves.
BLACK
This list of favorite shows from Africa fashion week is incomplete without black. When I saw his first design, I said African, masculine, Over the top and a mix of Wakanda vibes.
If you have watched the popular movie, you will relate to it. The female models looked regal like women kings or even warriors. There was just this masculinity to every design. That even a female will want to jump on it. And moreover we know that 2026 fashion trends is all about Androgenous looks. We are now into shopping men’s look yet making iyt soft for a feminine gaze.
In as much as Africa fashion week day 1 was the best I have ever had. Day 2 was lit. But I couldn’t attend the show for personal reason. If you missed day 2, check out there Instagram handle for a sneak peek of the show. Talking about Africa fashion week London, this has been on my Wishlist for a while. I would love to be there to see how they represent Africa in London. Anyways, someday I will go there just for the show.
What to wear to Africa fashion week Nigeria
When the show was being promoted, I shared some fun looks from you can wear to Africa fashion week. One of them is to wear Ankara oufits that hits differently.
So, for me, my ankara bubu dress was checked. I got the dress from IDJankara. Which of course, I have a discount code with: Trendsenstylez for some money off. Shameless plug, I guess. What i am trying to say is, if you love Africa fashion, go for Ankara prints, Adire prints or even Aso oke. I have so many Aso oke patch work designs that are top on my Wishlist. And this brand has some cool options.
My pair of red pumps is from Jumia. I snatched itr up during the december clearance sales and I love it. I head piece is my crotcher creation which I made watching youtibe tutorials. And I am still pained that I didn’t get to wear it perfectly stoned with Swarovski crystals. rolls eyes.
Which of the designers above is your favorite? Will you be attending Africa fashion week Nigeria next year? Did you attend Africa fashion week 2025? What are your favorite runway moments. Did you watch the show by Inside owt Basotho brand? What is your take about them?
